Attempts to quit smoking...

"Quitting smoking is easy............. I've done it hundreds of times." lol..

I used his book also (Allen).. Years later I realized that the book was just advanced NLP..
Good thing I didn't know what NLP was when I read it back then.

I think best will be to just stop.. Methods, beliefs, etc.. It's all Psycho... Just stop. you know it's bad for you so be courageous and end it..

I used an e-cig for about half a year, and it worked wonderful, it was a new addiction, so much better then tobacco, and you get awesome attention in public... it was fun, not sure how I started to smoke again, but I smoke 5 cigarettes a day now thanks for "American Spirit" (cigs with no additives).. also a good way to quit is to smoke black n milds, take couple of puffs and put it out.. with American Spirit, they don't taste good so you won't be smoking much. Force yourself.

"oh boy " memories. i tried doing that like thousands of time " was abused by my dad "he never smoked even a cigg in his life hes now 60 " and when it comes to me its just friends everywhere and huge cloud of smoke ..

That surely is addictive .. Yes i want to quit i wish i had the will to do so.

Phew " lights a cigarette "

To quit I would need:

- No annoying girlfriend
- No annoying people, period
- Lots of food
- Fresh air
- Change of scenery/routine

Basically, I would need to be on a desert Island.
Preferably with lots of pretty, tanned "Island Girls"
who can't speak English ( no arguments! ) and
who were horny as hell. That's the only way
I could keep from gaining weight AND keep my
mind of it.

I used to smoke a pack a day and quit a year back. Just loaded myself on a lot of mints to keep myself occupied. Like most, first week was the worst, but after 2-3 months, I found myself only thinking of lighting up when I'm stressed at work. Nowadays, I find myself easily irritated by the smell of cigarette smoke. Didn't realise that they smelled THAT bad.

The reason why it is hard to quit is because smoking is a habit and anything previous experience that associated with it.

For those who quit by cold turkey.. first you got to overcome the withdrawal symptoms... such as giddy, headache, lack of focus, etc... and sometimes yellow substances from running nose. These usually will go away after 1-2 weeks depending how long you have been smoking.

During the 1-2weeks you have to cope with the action that associated with smoking. These action really depends on your previous experience. If you smoke every time you drink beer, hot coffee, coke for example then when ever you drink these drinks then you will have the urge to smoke. Or if you smoke whenever you do you business in the toilet then you will have the urge to smoke when you start to do your business in the toilet.

Given that most people smoke when faced with stress, argument, (emontional unbalance), etc.. it is not hard to understand why people give up even after 1 year of smoke free lifestyle. The associated action that leads to smoking might not surface even after a year later.

In conclusion,
- take note of those actions that you associate with smoking
- face the action straight on without depending other external/ physical help

you will feel stronger everytime you overcome the associated action and eventually leads to smoke free lifestyle. From my own personal experience.. hope that helps.

Really is no point in smoking at all, I gave up a few months ago and really dont knwo why I started

I sit at a computer everyday. I quit. In my country they have these 3 step programs called Quest. The first step(pack 1) has low nicotine. The 2nd step is less nicotine. The 3rd step is no nicotine. I smoke 2 of each pack until they tasted like crap and relized that the only reason i smoked was the nicotine. good luck. you want to quit to smoke cigs that taste like crap.

I`m smoking for 8 years and my first attempt was 4 years ago, when i read Allen Carr ebook "Easy Way To Stop Smoking". So the result was 1 year no smoking, that was great, after 1 year i was got angry by one person and had to smoke one cigarette to relax, then other one and other... And i`m a smoker now again.

So looking for other methods to quit smoking, also it could blackhat methods :D
I'm new here and want to jump in. Allen carr is excellent and it was easy for me to quit with his method. he just needs to write a book called "How to Stay Quit"

I never stayed quit with his book but I quit easily.

Blackhat method: I build nicotine vaporizers and get my Nic though water vapoer not smoke. Muuuuch healthier> distilled water, nicotine and vegetable glycerin. I build one that is smaller than pack of cigs and vapor smells and tastes good.

Big clouds of water vapor!

I wish i could post some pictures or a link to my stuff

I was a regular smoker (1 pack/day 2packs/party nights) for 5 years when I was at the university. In 2007 a little after easter I decided it is time to quit smoking(cold turkey) and so I did for 6 months. For some reason at a friend's wedding I started smoking again, until 8 months later I once again stopped smoking(cold turkey) and it is been more than 2 years and a half. I have to tell you that for these 2 years my face went from 27-28 old to a 20 year old dude and I feel so much better than before. From time to time I smoke a cigar or two, but I don't feel the urge for a cigarette

Quit smoking at 19, since then don't have any desire in it even in drunk company =)

If you need to quit check out Alen Carr's the easy way to quit smoking. Its available online and it will help you!

I smoked for 24 years and haven't smoked in 4 years following this routine one time:

1. Get a one month prescription (or free trial) for Chantix.
2. Follow the routine for 3-5 days and throw the rest away.
3. Do 30 minutes of any exercise you can handle 5 days a week for a whole month.

That's it. At the end of the 30 days you'll notice you are now in shape, eat better, don't have nicotine cravings and ready to cash in online even more than before.

The reason you through the Chantix away is because you don't need it after the first few days and it can make some people really aggressive. Just use it to get over the hump. It works like magic mixed with exercise.

Buy nicotene patches, they helped me a lot. You get them free in the UK too

Its simple....

Let me ask you a question, after you smoke a cigarette, do you say to yourself, mmm i really enjoyed that?...******** no!!..

:D

do you smoke? i dont think so..easy for you to say that "Let me ask you a question, after you smoke a cigarette, do you say to yourself, mmm i really enjoyed that?...******** no!!.. "

lol i bet my life on it if you are smoking for many years its just comes passive to you it doesnt matter if you enjoyed it or not as long as you tasted it..And when it comes in time that you only have 1 stick of cigarette to light for the whole freaking tiring day? ITS FREAKING HEAVEN!

It is easy to quit. Just tell yourself that you are not a smoker. Nothing in life will make me a smoker. Even if the worst thing in life happens to you you are not a smoker so you do not need to smoke.

Try telling that to a person who's way of life is smoking. People choose theirselves what they will do and don't do, but smoking is addicting, and people quit really hard. I am not a smoker, but I've seen friends who have quit smoking really hard, and other friends who have just tried. So basically what matters is how strong you are inside and how strong you want to quit smoking. Some just say they want to persuade themselves.
