Hi to all BHW members. This is my first thread, si if you see some mistakes of my English, please understand me, thanks.

So i started this thread, because i wanted to know how were you trying to quit smoking and also tell about my attempts.

I`m smoking for 8 years and my first attempt was 4 years ago, when i read Allen Carr ebook "Easy Way To Stop Smoking". So the result was 1 year no smoking, that was great, after 1 year i was got angry by one person and had to smoke one cigarette to relax, then other one and other... And i`m a smoker now again.

Second attempt was rereading book from the begin 6 month ago, no smoker for 3 days, one evening a little a beer, "wualia" i`m smoking again.

Third attempt 2 days ago, i found a DVD relision of Allen Carr "Easy Way To Stop Smoking". so i watched, 4 hours no smoking and again i was got angry, smoking again. I`m smoking1i pack of cigarettes for 1 day.

I know that a lot of people are using "willpower", but with this one i have failed.

So looking for other methods to quit smoking, also it could blackhat methods :D

Thank you for all attention :)

Thanks guys :) First one method is really fast getting me bankrupt :D
I haven`t tried cold turkey yet, have to g***le more information about this one.

Huh, one person 5 minutes ago just said about digital dr**s, had anyone tied it before?

    Here how it works:
"Digital dr**s affect people through binaural beats - a complex acoustic phenomena. Over the study of these rhythms are working scientists from around the world for many decades. In addition to creating digital dr**s binaural beats are used to enhance learning, improve memory, status of the organism, treatment of some diseases, the definition of damaged areas in the brain, meditation, relaxation and a quick rest."

So i found track to quit smoking, just downloading it right now.

Willpower is a fickle thing as it can come and go. One weak moment at a party, with a girl and a beer, and you're off and running again.

The only thing that worked for me was complete focus and mind manipulation. Every time I lit one up I would stare at it and say to myself how disgusting it actually was and focused on what it was doing to my body. Then I focused on the taste and lastly I envisioned a long and painful death due to lung cancer and heart disease.

I did this EVERY TIME! It took about 5 months but sure as shit I stopped 12 years ago and haven't had a weak moment since. And I was one of those guys that was so hooked I actually used to smoke and eat on my lunch break to so I could get 3 or 4 cigs in and my sandwich. It makes me sick just to think about it.

    Good Luck ;)

Lots of people are claiming e-cigarette is good option... I am also smoking from last 20 years although first 10 years were occasional... From last 10 years I am averaging 10 cig/day... My friends also suggesting me to try e-cig... I might give it a try... If any one here used it let me know your experience...

I stopped smoking 4 years ago. Back then I was smoking 2 Marlboro packs per day.
I have never tried to stop before, so one Saturday after dinner I went to take a coffee and bought a cigarette pack. I smoked 2 cigarettes with the coffee and said to myself... "That's it, no more smoking".
At that time I was a freelancer in web development, so I put the Marlboro pack (with 18 cigarettes inside) in my desk with the lighter on top... You cannot stop smoking by running way from cigarettes, they are all over the place, you have to WANT stop smoking, whenever you feel like having one, grab it, look at the bastard and say "I'm better than you"...

By the way, I never smoked again but almost every day in the past 4 years I wanted to smoke a cigarette! I miss the damn thing... :smokin:

Giving up smoking was the easiest thing I ever did.

People usually smoke when they are bored, in the same way people eat when they are bored or watch TV.

I don't even belive that nicotine is addictive. I think it is junk science that people made up to sell you nicotine patches and gum.

Just make a game out of packing them in. It's all in your head dude! :)

    Its simple....

    Were you born a smoker??...no

The ONLY reason you are a smoker, is that you have a conditioned response to doing so. The ONLY reason that you are still a smoker, is simpy because you think that doing so is going to give you some pleasurable feeling.

Let me ask you a question, after you smoke a cigarette, do you say to yourself, mmm i really enjoyed that?...fuck no!!..

If, you still relate some type of pleasure to smoking, then you'll always smoke, after all, who in their right mind wants to give up something they enjoy?

On the same hand, though, if you still relate NOT smoking to being painful, then the mind will give you every reason to light up, after all, the mind controls the body, and who wants to do something that will bring them some type of pain? the mind "thnks" the same way..

    The solution?

The next time you want a cigarette, go and find the biggest ashtray you can and eat the whole fucking lot!!, butts, ash the lot...

If you still smoke after this, then i'll sell you a 20 pack of ashtrays to keep you going!!:D

Don't know that... I missed them because I liked to smoke, but you have a lot of benefits when you quit, the food tastes a lot better, you don't feel so tired, etc...
One thing curious is that when you are a smoker your clothes never smell like smoke (unless you went to a bar/pub), but when you are not a smoker you smell it a mile away.

He always got angry after using Alan Carr.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones; I smoked all through high school but I don`t often crave a cigarette unless I am drinking. Without beer I can go forever without cigarettes.
I think you should pick a date to stop. Let everyone know of the date. And make sure to remove all temptations after this date, (alcohol, etc).
Up until the date try to slow down your smoking. Try to go for longer in between cigarettes and maybe only smoke a half of a cigarette at a time.
I have also noticed some ``quit smoking by hypnosis`` programs that you can get on the Internet.

    Good luck

    P.S.
My uncle has developed emphysema from smoking. There is your motivation!
