Adsense blog approval.

Hey. I have recently linked my blog to adsense sucessfully after hosting it on a free domain webhost. The ads, however, do not show. It's just a blank space that appears in the place of ads. Is there anything wrong I have done? Or does it take a lot for google to approve my blog.
Note that I have my adsense account linked to YouTube aswell.

Is your account is non-hosted account?
If yes, then just wait for 2~3 days for them to review your site.
If not, then upgrade the account from hosted to non-hosted.

First, you may follow this below instruction:

Buy a custom domain name.
Use Google apps to create a domain specific email address and add about and contact pages.
Use 10-15 well-written blog posts.
Don’t use copyright images.
Keep your sidebar looks clean & professional and change your account hosted to non hosted

Your Adsense application to show ads on your blog is not yet approved that is why you are seeing blank ads. Are you hosting your website on blogger using a custom domain? You can link it but that doesn't mean you'll be able to show ads on your blog. You need to have an approved Adsense application for your blog.
