30 Day Challenge ► To help me keep sane while helping you make money

@Lilith55 I will post some stuff not related to FB, but there will maybe be a method that will change your feelings towards Mark :D

I have never been accepted to publish ads on fb. They didn't allow me to even start and I've never understood why. So if this are involved it will continue to be a dead method for me. But still following your thread.

Day 6

► Get Customers to Say “Yes!”

One of the most common reasons people don't buy is that the landing/product page is unclear or doesn’t contain enough information, mostly about the product/offer.

Example for ecom
Visitors usually start 'wandering' around the page, looking for answers. We, of course, don't want that! We want them to go through the checkout process as soon and as fast as possible.

To improve your conversion, find similar products on Amazon and research what people are asking. Find most asked/top 3-5 questions and answer them.

Every answer should start with 'Yes, ...' (micro-commitments) they subconsciously commit to buying a product by saying YES several times :)

Q: Is this product cruelty-free?
A: Yes, ..................

That's it for today! :)

Day 7

► Do you know your numbers?

What does your Google Analytics stats say? Bellow, you can find a few important stats that you should regularly check on your store.

1. What's your conversion rate, average order value (AOV), transactions, revenue?
In Analytics under: Conversions > Ecommerce > Overview
Tip: If your conversion rate is below 2% (for webshop) I really hope your AOV and margin is high; otherwise I'm not sure how can you survive in this industry.

2. What's your main traffic source (Facebook, AdWords, media buy, organic search, direct traffic, newsletter, ...)? What conversion rate does each source have?
In Analytics under: Acquisition > All Traffic > Source/Medium
Tip: Push more traffic to best converting sources and exclude those that don't convert.

3. Do you have more mobile or desktop traffic? Which converts best?
In Analytics under: Audience > Mobile > Overview
Tip: Usually the majority of traffic comes from mobile, but desktop traffic converts better. To collect some 'low hanging fruits' create retargeting campaigns on Facebook and Google ads for desktop only.

4. What is your best-converting state?
In Analytics under: Audience > Geo > Location > United States
Tip: Create Facebook ads with best-converting states only OR exclude less converting states from your targeting.
+++ Use Source/Medium as a Secondary dimension > you will see which source sends you less converting states.

5. Age and gender
In Analytics under: Audience > Demographics > Overview

That's it for today! :)

Day 10

► Improve your site speed

A fast website is important for conversion rate, user experience, revenue, SEO, traffic, ...

Use page speed tools to check your site and find someone who can improve/fix basic problems with your site, images, minify CSS, HTML, ... You can easily find someone on Fiverr or in the marketplace on BHW.

Check your site with these page speed tools:
→ developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights (a tool developed by Google)
→ gtmetrix.com

The hardest to optimize are pages you don't have full control off, like Shopify.
You are limited with Shopify, but you can:
1. Optimize images.
2. Reduce the number of apps and DELETE apps you are not using.
3. Use Google tag manager for tags (for analytics code, FB pixel, …).
4. Choose a fast, responsive theme, and optimize (less is more - remove carousel banners, replace background images with CSS, …).

That's it for today! :)

► How to minimize refunds and avoid Serial Refunders in e-commerce

The number of serial refunders is growing. The majority of them can't control their shopping behavior, and some just want to do some damage.

Here is what you can do to improve Facebook ads:
1. Export all your chargebacks and refunds
2. Upload them as a custom audience
3. Exclude them from all your new and post-purchase retargeting campaigns
4. Create a lookalike audience from these people and add it to your exclusion list. (You should always be looking for ways to improve your lookalike audiences.)

That's it for today! :)

Day 14

► Email Marketing campaigns for eCommerce

Here are some must-have campaigns:
1. Welcome Email
  • Personalize your message - welcome them & introduce yourself.
  • Invite them to take the next step - join your FB, IG, ...
  • Offer free shipping or send them a $10-25-off coupon on their next order as a welcome gift.
  • Include new products, content, ...

2. Order Confirmation & Shipping Info Emails
Shipping notification emails are important - let them know what is happening before they start asking questions.

3. Abandoned Cart Emails (3-5x)
There is no wrong or right way to do it. Some send 3, and some 5 emails, some send the first email after an hour and some after 4 hours. Test, test, and test some more.

4. Upsell/Cross-Sell Email

5. Referral Email
Ask them to share your products in exchange for a gift or a discount.

6. User-Generated Content Emails (UGC)
Ask them to send a review (photo, video) in exchange for a gift or a discount.

7. Survey Email
Single question surveys are very popular. Ask them how you're doing, what could you improve, ... listen and implement!

8. Thank You Email
Send a quick video saying thank you.

9. New Offer Email
