With a free theme, I managed to get in the 3rd to 5th place.

However, after I changed my theme, the ranking dropped to 9th place, and it's staying there.

Keyword density seems to be same for both themes, but there is a difference in keywords number.

Anybody has a clue?

Also, my theme places my website name before any keyword in the title.

Old theme: 1.9s load
New theme: 2.5s load

But the first place has a load time of 12.5s

Edit: @ePrime but how? When I choose my website name from customization section it automatically adds my website name to every single article before the chosen keyword in the title.

Do you retain original content optimization? Some theme uses sidebar widget as H2 heading. So you need to check whether if everything is same as before you changed

Did the rank change suddenly (like a day) after you changed the theme? Check the cache, if you don't see the new theme, chances are that theme has nothing do with the rank change.

You can either directly edit theme files or use Yoast SEO plugin to change the title format.
