Hi,

I bought a hosting and free domain from name cheap . com.

That domain ends with .website is this also same as the .com?

or is there any difference in ranking. we need to enable adsense+ cpa/ppd is difficulity with this ?

sorry if i asked wrong.

its different from .com, not sure about the ranking, supposedly tld's aren't a factor, what does your hosts main panel say?

yeah its also extension but its new gtlds. .com domains are looks good and works better in terms of ranking.

You'll get problems while building backlinks. Most of the platforms won't treat them as links. If you typed web.website they treat it as text only, so link juice, no ranking

Come on, how can you say this? Please provide proof because from 8 years can't notice such wrong things :)

Wrong, Google can discover links from text! If you write in a webpage http://www.domain.com (only text, no link) Google consider that text as a link! Please refear to Moz's discovery page of that system (sure 100%!).
So, the same is for web.website!

OP the only factor that change when you choose .website extension is that as low user experience impact. I mean that people (especially in non tech niches) have difficulties to remember your domain name if isn't the traditional .com! That's it. You can also rank every random extension without any problems.

Just use .com end of story, you'll come to some problems ranking new tld's :)

higher renewals fees mainly for some.
Yes, this is the only problem with lowest user experience. I'm using this new extensions for almost all my new websites (you can get really cool domain names available).
So, them are indexed in few minutes with WMT as all domains, all link building tactics are the same as .com .it
domains (I'm from Italy).

Finally, i found someone that thinks straight.

I agree with you 100%...

What matters is your Off Page SEO. Any domain extension can be ranked.

And any name can be remembered except if your visitors are dummy.

I would still have problem writing blackhatworld.com if not for my computer cookies.

It will work the same as a .com domain, just less brandable if you're going to do a flip.

Now Got Cleared Thanks For the Replies, Recentley Found A site with .me ranked as 1st in google.

This is just a new domain extension. Doesn't sound as good as .com but after all, it is free ;). I don't see any reason of why it will have any ranking difference as compared to .com, .net, .org etc.

If you have a choice of the .com & a .website get the .com.

I looked at the cost of .video yesterday, travel.video was $60,000. Given the choice of travel.video and travelvideo.com I would take the .com.

If you are building a site that you will throw all shitty links to and that will get banned in 12 months then get whatever, if you are building a real business get the .com.

One problem with .whatever is that you will have traffic leakage to the .com but what could prove a bigger problem is the email leakage you will have, massive pain in the backside when you miss out on business because people are typing in .com at the end of emails, and trust me, I have my domains on catchall, this happens frequently.

Im currently using both for my next project.

Was worried about .com leakage so I bought that, plus a fancy new .tld I think its more brand able that way. This is my set up

********.com
****.****

Personally I like the new tld more, because its three characters shorter and it flows nicely. Like you said a nice catch all email and a 301 redirect will solve all issues.
