I am new to BHW, however I have been reading the forum for more than a year without registration and learn many link building strategies from here. In this thread I just wanted to share my recent case study that shows how easily you can create a small niche website, rank it in Google using just a couple of link building methods and make money. I am not a native speaker and apologize for my grammar in advance.
Niche and competitors
I always liked promoting amazon products and that is why, when it comes to selecting a niche, I always start from amazon. Usually I analyze hot sellers and try to choose keywords such as best PRODUCT TYPE, PRODUCT review.
When I have a list of potential niches and keywords, I start analyzing top 10 competitors. An ideal keyword must have more than 4 competitors with DA less than 30 and page links less than 100. I also check site age of the competitors. If there are relatively "fresh" competitors it is perfect.
Website creation
In most cases I use wordpress platform and buy template from themeforest. Some of my websites have one sidebar, some of them have two sidebars. Both versions have its advantages and disadvantages but for the website that I am writing about in this post I chose one right sidebar layout.
During the first month I have added 5 "best PRODUCTS" type articles and 7 "PRODUCT review" type articles. 12 articles in total. To launch the website I added just a few articles and waited until it got indexed by google. After submitting sitemap to GWT, the website got indexed in about 48 hours, sometimes it may take just a few hours to index a new website.
Monetization
I never monetize website before it gets 30+ UV per day. The reason is simple: as one of my link building methods I use manual blog commenting, such comments are moderated by admins and in most cases, admins visit your website before approving the comment to make sure it is not spammy. I have previously noticed, that the approval rate is much higher if your website is not heavily monetized. As soon as the website starts getting 30+ UV/day. I add amazon affiliate links and banners.
Link building
Mostly I use blog comments, youtube videos and PBN links. I do not care whether bc link is ******** or noffolow, it is still valuable to diversify anchor text and website trust.
For the case study website I built 5 bc backlinks to each inner page and 15 to the homepage. Then I started adding PBN links and added 10 in total. Each domain had DA20+.
Now it is time to share some results.
Google Analytics data:

As you see, I started getting 30+ UV/day in October however I added amazon links only in the end of October because I was too busy with my other projects. As a result I earned 5 USD in October.

In November the result was much better, so far the website has made 406$ and will make about 800$ by the end of the month.
