[Case Study] 3 Month Amazon Affiliate Website | 400+$ in November

Great achievement mate. Just wondering, what is your bounce rate? and how many % of people who clicked on Amazon converts?

Great post, You can still absolutely kill it with Amazon, providing you choose the right products.

Great job, OP! Working on an authority site myself, so was wondering how exactly did you add the amazon links on your site, and dores it affect ranks?

wow such an inspirational success. I'm also starting a website for a certain product and make it an amazon affiliate site. Can you please some details of the site? And also, where did you get the idea? and also, after you get the idea, how did you check if your site can be placed in first page of google?

Due to the nature of affiliate websites, the bounce rate of the project from this case study is about 70%, however one of my authority websites that has lots of useful information has 58% bounce rate.

Usually, I create a separate folder on my hosting and create redirect files there (For example /visit/product1.html). Than I link my content with this file and when my visitor clicks on the link, he is redirected to amazon. However, there are many wordpress plugins that do the same job and you can use them too.

Unfortunatelly, I will not share my website here, however i will do my best to answer all your questions. In my first post I have already discussed the process of choosing the niche. To be short, I try to find those niches, where competitors DA is less than 30 and the page has less than 100 backlinks.

have you tried to rank website only with the content you write? I mean to not use any backlinks just to write content.

can you say if adding those 10 PBN links gave you a boost in serp? Or you can be just fine with only bc?

pardon me if I sound loud

can you give screenshot of your website (of course hiding *url and every thing , just we want to see your main website )

Please it will help us to make our website better.

Thanks

Great progress so far sergey007! Keep us updated. Btw Do you rank on #1 for your main keywords ?

I have tried to rank some of my websites without backlinks, however, it does not work. Of course it is possible to create valuable content and use social media to create buzz about the website and get natural links from other people, but not in the niche I am in and not with affiliate websites.

Yes, 10 PBN links gave me a good boost in serp, BC is a good link building method, but not as powerful as it used to be once. Nowadays, i just use blog commenting to diversify my anchor text, DF/NF ratio and types of links. Overall it has good effect on SEO.

I have already posted layout of the website from this case study in past. Please, check some of my older posts and you will find it.

I do not rank #1 for my main kw, however I managed to get #4 for it. Inner pages also hold good positions.

this is super encouraging, thanks or sharing, I have had my amazon account for years, never promoted anything, never earned a penny. Need to change that and post some of my results here to encourage others.

Good luck with your amazon website, herondon!

Very useful case study, I've learned a lot, thanks.
What tools did you use for off and on site seo?

I have not updated the thread for a very long time and decided to do that since many people were constantly asking me about the project.

The website was doing fine since January. On average: 500$/month. In April the project had more than 14000 pageviews and it was one of the best months for the project. I have not done any link building since than, just a little bit blog commenting for inner pages. 10 more pages of unique content were added to the website since January.

In the end of April, I sold the website for 18x profit. I invested money in more Amazon projects, seo services and apps. I am tryting to diversify my internet business at the moment and make it less dependent upon google algorithms.

One question if you don't mind. When I look through amazon categories and google "best product category" and similar keywords it always shows sites with over 50 DA, which are impossible to compete with. Am I missing something, should my main keyword be longer?

"best product category" is too broad keyword. Try to find something more specific. For example best electric lawn mower, best shaving soap and so on.
