Bristols' Journey to 100 hops a day! [YT+CB]

Hey everyone, I'm Bristol and this is my journal to 100 hops a day with Youtube and Clickbank.

Right now I've made less than $5000 online and this money came from the services niche however it has since dried up and I'm now converting to affiliate marketing. I tried PPD but it wasn't making sense for me and so after contemplating I've decided to start with youtube and clickbank. I will most likely start implementing some EMDs into the mix further down the road.

I've had some success with ranking local lead gen sites (SEO) but am fairly new to ranking content in youtube.

I've uploaded 3 videos so far and am going after low hanging fruit (low search + low competition). I uploaded all 3 on one account a couple days apart. Right Now 2 of my videos are on page 2 and 3 for their keywords and the 3rd is like on the 10th page.

I've promoted the videos with youlikehits a little and am waiting on some points that I bought off fiver.
I have Magic Submitter and know the program quite well and am going to start a small social bookmarking campaign soon. I've done a little commenting on related videos to get some sort of backlinks going. I also linked it to my google plus account, not sure if I should have done that or not.

I'm also debating if I should add more videos to this channel or try and find new accounts for the rest of my videos, (for some reason youtube wants phone authentication now) but I made a new account last week without it. (Seems like I'm triggering some alarm)

It's taking me about 1 hour to get a video done. (keyword+competition research, titles description etc, video creation, uploading.) I'm taking my time with the videos and really trying to create content that converts.


These are my total hops so far, I'm prolly averaging 1 a day so far.

Any advice, suggestions, would be cool.

You should aim for a monetary amount or at least a certain amount of sales, hops differ in quality of traffic. This will help your goal be more concrete.

Hey man, I've done pretty well in local lead gen so let me give you a word of warning.
Do not underestimate Clickbank in anyway. I assumed that it would attract younger marketers, and that it would be easier because of this, but I was very wrong.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have made these changes -

1) I would not target keywords under 1,000 exact searches a month. This works with local sites, but with CB + YT you need to rank too many videos for this to be profitable.

2) Go after bigger keywords from day 1. Just be smart with your keyword research. Don't waste time building backlinks on your own or screwing around with fiver gigs. Do extensive keyword / niche research, and find 2-3 good niches / keywords to promote. Then make 2-3 high quality videos. Get them ranking high up on youtube with views/likes. Wait for a sale, then POUNCE with SEO.

Thats the best advice I can give you.

1) My KW software is messed right now and only displaying Global Searches, I'm targeting kw's that get about ~ 10000 global searches a month, which should be well over the 1k mark.

2) Man to make the money I want I don't think 2-3 vids is going to cut it. I'm gonna post my stats so far and I was shocked I haven't even got one order form impression yet.

The past couple days been pretty busy with a family wedding but all that's over now.

So far I've uploaded 2 more videos across 2 more channels and have got 5 videos total.



I'm really happy and excited that I'm getting real hops!

Ive done very little promotion so far but on all my channels I've linked to google +, unique commented on relevant videos and grabbed some youlikehits views and subscribers and likes. I added some likes and the video jumped from the 3rd page to the 2nd page!!! I'm keeping track of all the stats and am working on a excel worksheet to keep track of these things.

Ive only done youlikehits views and the views are only 30 seconds so I'm looking around for other services where I can set how long they watch.

Of my 5 videos one seems to be driving most of the hops. I created a really good video from the salespage but I'm afraid it might be to good and when they arrive to the salespage they'll be disappointed. Will continue to test...

ON a sidenote I honestly can't imagine doing solely clickbank+Youtube like this for long. The clickbank products are all over youtube and I'm sure someone searching for a solution to their problem will be led more than once to those landing pages.. However whats good is that taking these baby steps is giving me great confidence to use youtube as a great supplementary traffic source.

Hey OP, congrats wonder would you mind be sharing how many searches you're targeting on the keyword, would it be 1k or 10k or 100k? I normal target above 1k and create lots of video, which guess they will last longer than most videos.

I'm still new to this but right now I'm targeting kws from Google Keyword Tool at around ~15,000 Global Searches a month. I then analyze the competition and see if its rank-able with my current skill set.

Life's been pretty busy lately but I plan to work really hard this weekend.

So I still haven't gotten around to promoting these videos much more than the initial work I did. I still need to find additional services but right now it looks like I'm going with u2bviews. (I need to find services that comment and can add longer views than 30 seconds). I'm pretty happy with what youlikehits has done so far but I'm cautious to not add too many of their views.

I got my FIRST order form impression yesterday and an all new high of 7 hops, I'm pretty stoked!!!

I've created 2 more videos and going to do 3 more for a grand total of 10 quality vids. (I feel this is enough to see if its worth scaling and whatnot.)

Yesterday I bought MVB so I can start trying different methods.
My mind has been going crazy lately with ideas for different channels and how I'm going to start implementing different strategies.

Do you make the videos yourself or outsource for example on fiverr and what type of video do you use?
