Google always does stuff like this, they piss me off so much sometimes I am using Bing more and more.
 
That search for "something" ranking something.com is nothing new to this algo update. That's been up there for at least several months. I remember seeing it sometime last year. I can't remember when, but at the latest it would have been August. It might have even been a full year ago. And from the person that showed it to me I got the impression that it wasn't even something new at that time. If you dig a little deeper it is PR5, Google actually has 1,300 pages indexed for the domain, and I didn't even look at backlinks but I'm sure there's some stuff going on there too. Obviously it's still lacking in content (and whoever owns it should seriously slap up adsense or something), but it's not a direct result of the most recent algo update.
 
Inside job...what would you do if you worked at google and knew the in-and-out. Lets report the site and see if it sticks
 
To me that "something.com" site looks like built deliberately(homepage) by some people here just to make fun of Google's recent stupid algo updates...
Anyway, what are you trying to pull off, Mr G?
 
Exact URL of keyword search. Regardless of content, will take preference as if you were looking for that particular site.
 
Unfortunately I have seen more and more of this crap popping up. Google is making their rankings a lot worse instead of better. They are so worried about punishing people instead of improving their algo's now. I guess what they don't realize is that it's the people that are the most dedicated to their SEO that are also the most dedicated to building great content (for the most part anyway).
