BHW has members across the globe, and the English language is not the only popular language on Earth.

However, it's the standard when it comes to communication at the international level.

Having said that, the English language is not spoken in many parts of the world, and there are international figures who can't even speak English.

Now, coming to 'Hire a Freelancer' and BST Threads, is the Grammar of the seller a red flag of incompetence, and do you take it seriously?

Besides some services that are related to coding, content writing is involved in almost everything, so how do you factor this in?

Yes, it's a must that they get it perfect. Otherwise, it just opens up a can of worms regarding their efficiency, competency, and business practices. That may or not be a direct correlation. But its still the perception. Perfect is easier to understand.

Sometimes. Depends on what am looking to purchase

If I am buying Gmails or let's say YouTube accounts or similar services. I don't really mind even if he has both the grammar and spellings messed up.

Honestly no one expects RP accent while talking to someone or sophisticated writing. As long the other person is professional and knows what he does i wouldn't bother.

Higher the ticket people are really not bothered as long as you are do the work in hand.

But if someone is new or just getting into business with less experience dealing with vendors/sellers these are good checks and balances in place to filter out quality ones.

Well.. you've already answered some of the questions yourself because it depends on service that you can't ignore.

Just 2 weeks ago, I was working on a task for one of my clients to source BSTs for content writing and even though some sellers met all of the other criteria for me to shortlist them for my client to work with, I left them off the shortlist due to the grammar I saw in their sales thread.

Despite their claim to be native writers. My hands were really tied in this situation, so I had to leave them off the list... The fact that it even involves content writing immediately strikes me as a red flag.

"You gotta practice what you preach"

It may not be the same for other services though :)

I’d say it does play an important role, but with ChatGPT, that issue is easily solved. You can simply write in the English you're comfortable with, and let ChatGPT refine it for you.

But I've seen many sellers who do not bother about their English structure.

Tbh, I dont judge too hard on grammar unless they’re selling copywriting or content services. If they a coder or running a traffic network, I dont care as long as the product works.

If that bothers you, choose a different provider.

Of course yes, but that's not the reason for this topic.

It's just for public opinions, and some would learn from this, thus improving the BHW marketplace

It's not just about english, you need an excellent sales copy to sell in a very competitive marketpace like BHW. But yeah, having badly written bst with grammar mistakes will make things worse for you.

Yes, it matters, if you can not bother getting that right it makes me wonder if you even bother with the quality of your work, there is AI nowadays that can help you get the grammar right, being a non native English speaker is not an excuse today.

Eghm tough call really.

Grammar ? if lets say in theory English was my 4'th language, well do not expect me speak it fluently, however I'll be good enough so we can communicate and get the message through.

All in all, professionalism has nothing to do with language or it's efficiency, I am generally more aware of slick talkers really. For example, flashy talk, promises, guarantees, and what not.

And yes, if you go on a meeting you gotta dress nice but just because you wear a better suit than I do, does not mean that you are better than I am and real professionals ( employer/etc. ) know that.

Not on BST threads.. because if they are selling a product that has been screen and reviewed by the mods, I am happy to pay if the product works.

If I am hiring a freelancer and I think the grammer is so bad that I might find it difficult to communicate with them, then that is a problem, just from a collaborative perspective.

Some of the best devs have bad English.

If the seller is offering a service that depends on clear communication, like content writing, strategy, or even support, then yes, grammar plays a role. Not because of style or "native level," but because it reflects how much care they put into clarity. On the other hand, if it's a product thread (tool, app, accounts), I don't care as long as the offer is clean and the delivery is solid. What matters is how they handle details. I’d rather deal with someone who writes imperfectly but responds clearly and delivers on point than someone polished who ignores issues.

I don't mind too much, unless it's very badly written

in fact, if there are small grammatical errors it might even mean something good, at least it means it was written by a human being

I'm more concerned about perfectly well-written texts, many scammers these days use AIs and they don't make mistakes, it's especially concerning when you read a text full of artificial content without real meaning

I’d say so. If they don’t spend time perfecting even their sales thread, then I doubt they’d spend time perfecting my order

No.

It'll only matter if they're completely unable to understand simple sentences. Long as proper communication is achieved, I don't care for their grammar if they are not writing articles for me.
