Does Botting Help Grow Your Channel or Does It Ruin It?

For as long as I remember, people have always said botting a YouTube channel or social media in general is bad.
It's rare for me to actually see people saying botting YouTube is effective
I even often see posts here on BHW about people worried that they ruined their channel from botting.

To a sense, I agree with a lot of these people saying botting is bad. The question is the intentions of the botting.
Is the botting to manipulate the already f**ked up YouTube algorithm, or is it to brag to people the following that you don't truly have.
What are your thoughts about botting intentions? Does it matter why the user is botting or is botting just for people who don't deserve to get a chance on the platform.

Now that I got that out of the way, time to answer the main question of this thread, is botting YouTube effective?
I think this depends on one thing. Are you trying to manipulate the algorithm, or are you trying to manipulate people?
I have had luck in both of these departments as I started my channel off botting and I was actually able to trick people into
thinking I had more of a following than I did which lead to some great partnerships that in the end helped grow my channel exponentially.

After my channel started getting the initial boost from the botting, I stopped botting for awhile until I felt that I needed more of a boost.
By this time I had roughly 5,000 subscribers (~3,000 organic). I started botting my videos for a month or so, and by the time I stopped,
I noticed my videos were now getting the same amount of views when I was not botting, than when I was botting. Meaning the botting worked!

If I never botted myself and had success, I would have agreed with everyone that botting is bad, but like I said, I have only had success from it.
I have managed to get 2 viral videos (not shorts) with one video having 7m views and the other one having 3m views. I have also had many other
semi-viral videos with 100-900k views. Not only that but while I was active on the channel, I was getting 10k-50k views a video, and a large portion
of those views were from the search bar meaning botting DID NOT ruin my channel and my videos were just as findable as a channel that did not bot.

I often see channels worrying about ruining their channel from botting, and of course your channel will be "ruined" if you have 10k subscribers with 5 views a video
but in the sense of the YouTube algorithm, I have had no issues with my botting ruining my SEO and my channel.

So in the end, I have had success with manipulating the algorithm and not ruining my channel.
I wonder if a lot of the people thinking their channel got ruined from botting maybe just never had their videos pushed into the algorithm like a most videos.
Even if you're botting, the chances of the algorithm picking up the video is unlikely hence making these people think their channel is ruined.
From your own experience, has your channel ever been "ruined" by botting it? If you do not have experience, let me know your thoughts on this.

Using a bot to boost your views synthetically has its risks but it also has the potential to initiate the growth of your channel. Once you found magnetize real viewers and subscribers, you will not require keeping relying on a bot.

Yes, the quality of views is very important. I wasn't aware of that at the time plus I was broke so the views I bought were very low quality, I have no idea how they helped me grow.

are you telling these things from your own experience or just parroting what you heard? If buying views would lead to suspension of the account, everyone would buy views for their biggest competitor to get them removed but that makes no sense because it doesn't work like that

Yes this is correct. As far as I am aware, YouTube and all other social media platforms do not suspend users for suspected botting for this reason.

people repeating endlessly what they heard as a fact is a real issue on this forum. Content is king, duplicate content will get you banned, you need 1 proxy / account, YT / Google algo is all knowing god which knows what you ate for breakfast this morning, botting youtube doesn't work and only way to succeed at Youtube is upload videos daily for years and then expect the best that algo will pick your channel up... Or not. Well, if the goal is making money as slowly as possible then yes these may be correct. Everyone chooses their way, they may prefer cycling with bicycle on sidewalks, me I prefer going with new BMW on a highway

Real traffic counts. Real views also drop - of course, as it depends on many factors. Browser, retention, device, etc.

if someone from strange / unknown browser watches video for 1s and closes video immediately, there is 90% chance that YouTube will cut this view in first 4 hours or After 5 days maximally.

but it is definitely safer to get Real views than botted ones - and here - of course better chance to get such a view monetizable.

it’s algo choice always. ranking and recommendations depend on stats and optimization, but completely random videos can get viral always.

the goal is to bootstrap the initial growth instead of waiting and praying that eventually the algo will pick your channel up because youtube guidelines said so. In real life doing everything by the book is not always the fastest and best way to approach things. Life is not a school where you get good grades for repeating what has been told in the books. There is a reason why there are many content creators who invested massive hours into creating perfect content which is really great but no one watches it because the creator is lacking selling / marketing skills. And playing with youtube algos is one of the ways how you market your channel in 2023. Many great channels who took years to eventually blow up when it could have been months.

As far the botting goes some people are still living in the past with their techniques when signing up for SMM and throwing random views to the video worked to easily rank. Now that only is not enough in most cases and there are other factors in play which play bigger role when compared to earlier time and one of them which has decent weight is channel authority. The channel that is old, has many views and subscribers will rank above weaker channel. Discrimination? Not fair? Maybe, but this is how the world works so adjust accordingly and use that to your advantage.

One should invest their time into building personal accounts farm in their niche instead of buying random views blindly. Such views and account interactions are way way more powerful than random panel views. Personal 500-1k accounts farm will be relevant for a long time and serve you well banking hard with youtube while everyone else is busy crying how the algo is not pickup up their channels while they do everything by the book

I am starting to get more and more pissed off by people on this forum who pretend that they know how things work while in reality their knowledge is based off what they heard being told. It would help if they just said "I don't know for 100%, never tried it myself, but I heard that x doesn't work because of y." But they don't bother with that. Instead, they keep pushing their flawed beliefs as a fact misguiding others. The misguided continue doing the same and the cycle is endless. No wonder why it's so easy to manipulate people. Recent world events is a perfect example of that but I am not going into that now.

I wish moderators were more strict here about what is being told publicly. I see too many so called SEO's who have no clue what they are doing giving advice publicly which has no value at all. Not sure they even understood the questions asked or what they are writing. And the best of it? They sell SEO here lol. Protip: always check post history of the seller you are buying from. You will know what you are working with

It depends on the SMM and service but really, most SMM panels are horrible for SEO.

My thoughts exactly this forum has been infested with disinformation agents starting in the seo subforum to this subforum and now it has already spreaded like a virus to the TikTok subforum. It's getting even more ridiculous where some of these disinformation agents are vip members who have been here for years and for some damn reason they became corrupt.

Always test methods and use common sense. Do not get scared away when you see bullshit posts claiming the method does not work and give little to no details. Like seriously you can give a whole lot of important information without revealing your niche.

One last thing and I really hate to say it but the mods in this forum have basically become a metaphor to real life governments and politicians. In other words, they see shit festering and refuse to do jackshit about it...

If you are using a source like mircoworkers, it will help the channel. Because those are real human views.
