Hi,

I want to start a website having long term goals i want to make this website an authority website in personal finance niche.

As of now no budget all i have is me with little bit knowledge of SEO and good knowledge of blogging and niche.

Which SEO strategy do i need to follow that would lead me to top ranking. I am planning to publish 1 long post every day and 3-5 short news kind of post per day.

And one more thing do you have any experience in creating an authority site in competitive niche in recent times with 0 initial budget? kindly share your experience and any good strategy.

Anyone here with a good seo strategy for long term seo to create an authority blog?

Personal Finance is probably the toughest niche to rank. I doubt if there are any short cuts to rank in PF in long run. Only way is tried tested techniques like writing guest articles, doing Press Releases, creating viral content, having properly updated social media pages etc.

1 post per day is very little. You must hire a writer so you can do at 2-4 posts per day. Also finance is super super hard and saturated to choose. You must do keyword research and find some smaller niche under personal finance.

Also you must have backlinks. I don't suggest buing it feom PBNs. It is better to go direct contact.make a list to similar blogs to yours and contact them try to excange backlinks. It is hard but plausible.

Without budget and ads it is very hard in that field... just my 2 cents

Even if my target audience is Indian?

Unless he is working on a news site, 1 post per day is huge if he can keep up.

any seo/link building strategy to make it an authority blog

Personal finance niche is competitive one, you should have effective and trustworthy content, Update your content with trending topics.

Build backlinks from relevant and authority site, do guest post and press release.

Write long articles, build strong backlinks on them, make sure you choose easy keywords

which free keyword tool is best for choosing keywords apart from google keyword planner?

Finance niche was more competitive one so always should keep long articles, good backlinks, do guest post and press release and social media posting.

Can you please explain good backlinks like where to get apart from guest posting. Like profile creation, social bookmarking, web2.0, directory submission, pdf submission anything else and is there any ratio of getting backlinks from these?

No money.... stay away from a competitive niche. Go for a less competitive niche and then take the money you make to go after a more competitive niche.

You will have success with any blog if you provide quality content that is more in depth than your competition. Then build quality backlinks. With no money you will be building your own web 2.0's, guest posts, user profile, comments, forum links. These should be able to get you ranking for low completion. For highly competitive niches you are gonna need to buy a ton of links or better yet own your PBN.

One can create a budget to finance first class links for a site like this, by seeking to get guest posts published on sites that pay the writer for the article. Get 5 guest posts published on relevant sites that pay $30+ for the content, and you'll have at least $150 to work from.

Use the cash to buy and build a relevant PBN network of your own based on expired domains with high TF (for relevancy), build them out with high DR and DA links (for diversity).and quality content. Between these TF and hi authority links, the site should rank well.

@new_don few hints:
  • don't think you writing lots of blog posts on the same topic and keyword will help you. You will end up creating competing pages and google does not like it. It will not know which page to rank for your desired keyword. Take a look at all the difficult keywords and see the top sites, you will find that they do not have competing pages!
  • as for backlinks: since you are on a budget, I suggest creating your own PBN's using free web 2.0 sites. dont go crazy, build few at start (5), and concentrate on creating good solid backlinks (i.e. profile and other web 2.0) to these tier 1 links. You should notice some positive movements.
  • lastly, in my opinion, on-site optimization matters more these days than backlinks.
