SEO Options for my business

So lets explain my situation.

I sell sweets. I have quite a niche product not as niche as I would like but it's a growing market, I am just e-commerce + ebay though. Wordpress website.

What SEO options do I have? I bought a SEO package a few years ago and it did absolutely nothing for me (probably my fault). I didn't even understand most of it.

I have tried putting my keyword into the product descriptions etc. I get no sales from instagram, 75% atleast from facebook, the other 25% from ebay. My products are pretty much the same just different bags and sweet mixes. So im using the same keyword alot as it's not exactly a blog etc.

Ive run out of pictures to post on instagram/facebook/twitter as we dont have a shop, just manufacture and package on site and ship out. So sweets always look the same.

So what are my best options for increasing sales across Wordpress & ebay using paid for SEO or anything from this website or strats?

I have no idea about ad campaigns I am a 1 man gang at this point and don't turn over enough to be hiring a SEO manager.

There is a lot to it mate then what can probably be told over here.

The first thing i would ask is, who is the target market ? Are people searching for your sweets through google? Do you offer gift packages for weddings etc like favor bags.

No they are not searching for my brand name however people are searching for the keyword. but im not on first page.

As of yet I offer wedding favours and party bags but have not got the capacity to got to bigger businesses wedding planners etc to put my information with them.

I shouldnt imagine they would be searching for your brand name, i meant the type of sweet!

Well, there is a lot you can do tbh it will be a patience game.

First thing i would suggest would be getting all your keyword written down, check their search volumes and difficulty. See how hard it will be to actually rank!

Thats a good point, havent looked at ranking my sweet type.

Keyword planner by google best place to check them ? I just see how high a bid is for the word for adwords ?

I suggest you look into Shopify, create a great website, maybe dabble with some paid traffic and retargetting. Don't go all out on an SEO manager, as basically anything you'll get on Fiverr or whatever is just going to be some spun crap.

Shopify
1. Create a Shopify Store
2. Upload your products
3. Work on making your product descriptions descriptive, as if talking to a human, not a toddler. For example, go to Google, find a competitor who's on page 1, and check how they break down the descriptions to their products, include all those sections, probably something like ingredients, brand info, product description, etc. Make sure it's at least 500 or so words, maybe more to begin with, then refine it once you gain some analytics to work with from Google.
4. Adjust meta title to be something like "Buy Candy online - Free USA Shipping" or whatever, description "Get your favorite Candy online, free and fast shipping, secure pay" or whatever.

1. Create Google Search Console if you haven't already
2. Verify ownership on Google Search Console
3. Submit all URL's for crawling in "URL Inspections"
4. Let it simmer

Analytics
1. Create Google Analytics Account
2. Connect G-Analytics to Shopify
3. Let it simmer

Run Ads

1. Google
If you haven't already, you can get into this by spending $10-20 per day

1. Create a simple search campaign if you're new to this
2. Create 2-3 Ad Groups, basically your product categories.
3. Add some keywords, if you haven't already, use your free trial on SEMRush to find some keywords, or search your keywords on Google, scroll down and use some of the suggested search terms, add the word "Buy" and "cheap" - like "buy candy online" , "buy candy online cheap" , "buy x/y/z candy online"
4. Use Manual CPC, set your max bids to something reasonable like $0.25
5. Go to your Keywords and adjust your bids to be $0.20-0.25 per click, start off with 10-15 keywords and refine it later using Google Analytics
6. Define some basic demographics, countries, don't define ages or anything, just include or exclude countries
7. Run some $10-20 worth of ads per day

If you haven't already, you can dabble with this, I personally don't have much experience with Facebook ads, but you can easily hire someone from Fiverr to set things up for you, hire a graphic designer to make a simple ad graphics for you, spent $10-20 a day to see if this method works, if not, move onto Instagram

Either hire a designer from Fiverr or use an app like Canva to create some graphics, run some $10-20 ad campaigns, test things out with their options too, I've heard people gain great results, especially as your niche is for mostly hungry people aimlessly browsing the internet, what better than to see it then buy it off ig.

Some good advice there. Theres no competitors on google who sell my product.They just sell sweets. But not my kind. I search for my keyword and literally loads of blog posts about my keyword come up . Where you can't buy the sweets. I had to go to page 2 to find a website that even stocked similar sweets.

Ill do the above, I have a google analytics account linked to my website using Yoast SEO but never run an ad. SO i will have a look at that 100%! Thanks for the advice!
