Just to recap: OP, all you did was publish? Basically, the 'blog and ping' method still works as long as you target low comp low traffic keywords?

But does the traffic flow yield a positive ROI and ROE (return on effort)?

Well, there were some works done on On-page SEO before publishing. I believe that's what earned me rankings. Here is the list-

- Improvising UX(floating index, quick navigations, fonts etc).
- Placed LSI keyphrases(to let the crawler relate what my content's all about).
- Inbound and outbound(authoritative) links.
- Optimizing Alt Tags, Image File names with keywords.
- Creating infographics for the contents I could.
- Writing a catchy meta and putting triggering words into the title.

And talking about ROI and ROE, i'm pretty happy with what the results is so far. I've seen spikes in traffic and impressions, and that's what i'm taking as ROI now. As I've not monetized the site yet, I'm not earning anything. But I'm sure when I'll do, it'll reach a $1000/mo within 4-8 months.

I've worked with keywords with SV of 2000-5000/mo before. Two years back, i could rank them just with guest posts, PBNs or expired web 2.0 links.

But after several Algo updates of this year, I don't think it'll work the same way anymore. Specially, when the keywords are of buying intent.

To me, I'd rather try these-

• Supporting high competitive content with tons of cluster contents. i.e. informative articles, single product reviews, brand reviews, Vs. reviews etc.
• Driving a good number of social traffics before organic ones.
• Do some natural link building from extremely niche-relevant blogs.
• Using a mix of anchor text types while link building or internal linking.

There can be many more points to be added on the list. But i think these are the preliminary ones.

How to you choose the ulra low competition keywords?

My process was pretty hectic. Using 3-4 keyword tools, I prepared a gigantic database of 2000+ informative keywords under my niche. Then, I'd divide them into sub-categories and filter them based on SV, competition and intent. Moving forward, I'd do a one-by-one analysis of keywords(this eats up hours and hours).

And finally, I group up keywords based on intents again. For each keyword, I had 1-3 main keywords and 3-10 supportive keywords.

Then it moves to content structuring and resources.

What does it mean by 8 - 10 potential spots?

In the case of both inbounds and outbounds, I maintained a healthy mix of anchor text variations.

I understand how you can control outbounds. But what about inbounds? Did you contact anyone to write a specific phrase and link it back to you.

Well, by 8-10 potential spots, i mean 8-10 weak competitors who're already ranking at the 1st page and whom I can outrank.

And about the second questions- no I didn't outreach yet for such backlinks. These low competitive keywords are supposed to be ranked without any links i guess.

Well, right after i published the first few(3-4) articles, it took almost 1.5 months to get those URLs even indexed. Sandbox issue, you know.

To earn ranks for those first few, it took about 10-15 days. 1-2 articles took even longer(2-3 months).

But now it seems fine. I'm literally earning ranks within 24-36 hours now.

Which tool do you use for LSI words? The ones I found online all have daily limits. Thank you.
