Enjoy Instagram botting while it lasts

As I've said in the thread OP linked, Instagram knows most of the people who use bots. Their anti-spam mechanism is very complicated, they log EVERY tap you perform, at what time and how long it takes for every module of their app to load/react.
Most (I'd even say ALL) of the public/sold bots (Jarvee, GMT2 and all the others) do NOT even try to overcome IG anti-spam mechanism as it would take a long time and would only make Instagram very angry.

I repeat once again, Instagram knows exactly all who uses automation software and who doesn't. Why don't they ban everyone who uses bots? They are not stupid, they are recording your actions to improve their AI even more. Nobody knows if in the future they could heavily reduce your engagement rate if you are using bots, it's up to Instagram.

Alot of people are saying rehearsed phrases. OP never said botting will die. He said it would be alot more difficult and expensive. What is probably going to happen is a big dip where only the wealthy/genius people will be able to continue, and then eventually methods will be made for 'avg' people like us to continue botting. I am very interested in the future because buisnessess are relentless at their game these days. They are absolutely determined not to 'fade' or fall away. If something gets popular, they adopt it like lightning and don't try to be too unique. I am interested to see if IG becomes part of the 'mainstraim' technology company giants that sci-fi films often depict. (eg; cyberlife from detroit become human or stark industries for marvel)

Although it's true that IG will shut down all of their APIs, it has to be an alternative way of communication between the app and the server. In this case, they call it GraphAPI.
GraphAPI is a better approach to developing APIs. It's not a new way of communication. It's just a protocol that FaceBook developed internally to boost the performance of their applications by getting the fields that are required.
As I've mentioned earlier, It's only a protocol so there would be nothing more than an HTTP request in the end.
On the other hand, The automation software developers can switch to emulation and increase their pricing.

Try to download Instagram app 27.0 and capture all requests, you will see everything that they sending to their servers. The thing is that you can simulate every tap/action, so I'm pretty sure they can't distinguish bots in version 27.0. Which means using GMT2/Jarvee is perfectly safe.

I don't have enough time right now to remove certificate pinning and sniff requests, sorry. Are you saying that in version 27.0 instagram mobile app does NOT use logging_client_events endpoint?

Besides the technical stuff.

Instagram got fucked by bots. Why? Because they didn't act early to stop them The amount of ig accounts botting is so high .. so high that if they decide to shut down all of these accounts ==> the user number growth will slow down. This thing will scare investors and stock holders.

And if they decided to slowly and steadly close accounts then the community will adapt to that because they have the time to do that.

If we take shopify as an example. They told investors that they have thousands and thousands of users .. one day a guy named andrew left from a blog called citron research (the guy who criticized Herbalife and destroyed it) said this :

Out of the claimed 500,000 websites, Shopify has about 2,500 “Plus” clients and maybe another 20,000 “Advanced”. So where are the other 450,000 + websites????

The value of shopify stock got hurt pretty bad after that.. and they are still trying to recover

The problem is waaay bigger than we think

I think that's pretty interesting, where can I find more information about the Shopify / Herbalife issues?

Instagram cannot determine whether actions are human-operated or automated though. Just because an account follows 300 people per. day, it doesn't mean it was automated. If they banned every account that performed a lot of actions, they would literally destroy their platform.

I'd say over 1/4 of Instagram's monthly "active users" are bots. Honestly probably more as there's so many like farms. 2/4 are private users who just like friends photos and post occasionally, follow a few meme pages. The other 1/4 make all of the content and are the real active users who post frequently and engage with their community. Maybe even less. Obviously these are just guesses as it's impossible to come up with the true statistics.

I believe Instagram needs botting and without it they'd see a decrease in active users just like the other social media networks all are seeing currently. As Instagram's AI increases, bots will too. A good quote is to "never keep all your eggs in one basket". Take what you can while you can and spread off into multiple ventures.
I'm pretty sure the normal user to content creators is more like 99 normal users and 1 content creator. I do agree with everything else you said though.

Never actually thought about that, might explain why alot of my accounts are banned from doing any actions while still being able to logged into.

After reading to much nonsense in this thread I decided to explain some things.

Instagram botting will be easy until the end of 2019 when API v1 will be switched off.
With API v2 you won't be able to perform most of the actions including following/unfollowing.
Most of the requests will be encrypted.

Right now everyone uses app version 27.0.0.7.97 for simulating requests including GMT2 and Jarvee. That's because version 27.0 is the latest version that uses API v1.

For example, the newest version 58.0 use encrypted requests + API v2.

So everyone enjoys your botting, it will be very difficult and expensive at the end of 2019.
Thats not going to stop automation, because you can always open multiple instances of the app and perform actual clicks on the buttons. It will require you to have a good system, with alot of RAM.. but its more than feasible as the bot im using to bypass the rate limits for comment mentioning does it like this.. Not as fast simulatnig requests.. but it gets the job done, and you don't receive blocks because you're working within the actual IG app. Seems threads regarding the death of IG automation come out every other month based on IG updates, and no one seems to get that there is always a way to automate things regardless of a platforms update. May require more work, and not be as easy.. but it will never die. Sorry to break it to you. :smirk:

Hello guys, while I do agree botting will become harder and more costly to do, I don't really think Instagram will MASS ban us, the reason being most of the account that are botting are mostly doing some sort of business activities, and these are the people that are most likely to spend on advertising as well, if these people are banned, they are like shooting their own foots.

The game is constantly changing.. It have to... nothing new.
But thanks for the info

Eh encryptions can be broken. All the information for encryption needs to be there in the app, so it can be reverse engineered. Im not worried to be honest.

Not worried at all, those who worry are inexperienced.

Botting will continue to live on.

Just takes more resources.

I believe the source you linked was talking about the public API. It sucks that it's being shut down, but it will only affect sites like Social Blade, etc. - Existing bots won't be affected by this (as long as Instagram doesn't drop support for older mobile devices). The reason why gmt2 and other services don't always update to the latest version is that IG releases a new update for their app almost every week and it isn't needed to update to the latest version unless you need the new features. (e.g. IG TV)

I am not sure what you mean by Ig "encrypting requests" because requests have always been encrypted and signed and you need to reverse engineer the app to decode it. If they do have some hidden trick hidden up their sleeve for 2019, it might cause issues for bots/services wanting to use the latest API version for the first few weeks but it will eventually be cracked.

I think only time it all over is when all platforms use live auth for accounts .

when face reconition used to profile a user and sound reconition .

accounts will be a nightmere to have or get .

logging in with face and sound reconition
will destroy all socail boting.

it already in place with some mobiles in beta.

it being spoken about a lot on seminars, facebook teamed up with the new "" note mobile "" in beta to test it.

my opioion.

mobiles are getting even more advance so it all possable to have real tight auth invented easly .

face book already got super servers know installed, so the future looks very bad for bots .

it will always exist boting but cost a good montly fee to join in, so non earners got no chance.

From what I understood so far about the API situation, I think this is correct.

As for the encryption of the API, each request is already encrypted with HMAC256 and a private key different for each Instagram version.
