Hello everybody,
I am new to this forum and rather inexperienced when it comes to tech material unfortunately.
I just launched a luxury eyewear brand and of course my aim is to promote it ( in order to get sales). I think i need organic traffic( real people engaging) on my instagram and fb page so they can click on the website and make the purchase. I am doing everything very professionally ( registered the brand, opend the company, bought domains, trademark, photoshooting, models ......) but since at least for the 1st year my aim is to sell only online through my website and not distribute my sunglasses to opticinas and stores, i really need to find a way to market properly my sunglasses. I won't have many items, it's a micro-production of handmade luxury sunglasses so we are talking about 500 to 600 pairs per year that I will be producing. As you can probably guess, prices will be in the medium-high range so I believe a niche of customers will be willing to eventually "put their faith in me". From my understanding of marketing, there isnt just one strategy that can be applied to every products and services, but according to the product you sell , you need to develop a marketing strategy specifically suitable for it. In my case we could generically say that we are dealing with the luxury industry segment so i belive that many automatic bots, in my case, might not be the best option....(i guess). Given my situation, what woud you personally suggest me to do and what tactis/services could deliver results? bots perfomed manually perhaps? i was guessing an agency could do the same work that an automatic bot does but they could work "better"? Would that be more suitable? I mean ...gaining 1000-2000 followers (like automatic bots make you reach) a week for a startup sounds dodgy to me and people can easily think that I am using bots! At the same time i don't wanna be following and unfollowing random accounts as its a bit weird ( especially for a luxury brand) .( i try to put myself into potential customers' shoes) ! .

Feel free to make any observation and corrections, as I told you i am new to this and not even slightly tech savy so I really appreicate all usueful info! Who knows?! maybe automatic bot is exactly what i need but maybe i didnt understand the way they actually work.....feel free to let me know.

What would you suggest that I should specifically do in my case to ensure long term success?

Thanks

Bruno

Reach out to some influencers on Instagram, give them some free samples, also blogs, get the right people involved. What about YouTube?

.thanks for the reply, no youtube yet, anyways....yeah i have already contatced 20 influencers and with at least 15 of them we found an agreement. But i am sure there is some other way to add to it!. probably blogs yeah, any ways or anyone in this forum that could help me out and get the most out of it with blogs? so you suggesting not bots at all? what about for example manuale bots like RELAXED SOCIAL , from my understanding they do everything manually and looks like an agency is working for you rather then an automatic bot, could they be a good choice? or is there any other relevant alternative?

I personally wouldn't use bots, you have them on Amazon and eBay I take it

This is a good one! I am also about to launch my fashion line with medium-high prices. We will mostly have products in the high $$ range and medium $$$ range.

We will work with a lot of different influencers and since I have my own Social Media Agency, that is awesome, since I already have all the contacts.

As @blogzandstuff said, you can try youtube too. It takes some work and time, but then you have your videos out there and thats it.

If you need help with marketing, you can dm me and we can talk about it a bit more and we can see, if we can figure something out.

In the first year/s you just need as much exposure as possible, since a start-up in the 5 years is still not 100% stable. After those 5 years, you can say, that you are "on the safe side" (nobody is!) and that you have reached some decent goal that nobody can just take away from you one day to another.

Been working on a bunch of different businesses currently and investing in a bunch of different income streams. Make sure to plan everything and write everything down! The more detailed, the better. Nothing should just come as it is. The more is planned and thought through, the better and so I suggest you to exactly know and think about what the customer wants to see, and where you are going to see them most likely.

Ever thought about going to some luxury events and just distributing business cards? If it is as luxurious as you claim, then that would be an awesome marketing tip.

Go to an event on a sunny day and look for middle-class to rich families and look for the people without sunglasses. Go up to them and ask them, why they do not have sunglasses and if the sun is not bothering them. Then they will either say, that they have some or that they forgot them or do not have some. Then you can just simply say, but look, these sunglasses are so amazing, you will never even want to forget them and show them your sunglasses. They will realize that they need sunglasses (supply and demand) and then you just need to be a good salesman and try to sell them or at least get them interested and ask for your business card.

Then you either have sold the sunglasses right there or you can tell him that he can go on your website and if he really wants some, you can bring them to him in person (if he does not live so far away). This will make them love you and as you know, customer is not only king, he is god. Treat every single customer as if he is your first or last one and your life depends on that one guy. If you do this, maybe he is the head of a huge luxury magazine and then is promoting your sunglasses and is bringing the story out there, that you even put in the work and brought him the sunglasses. People will love that because they see, that you put in the work and care about your customer. Then you will not have enough sunglasses, (supply demand) and people will have more and more desire to have your sunglasses. You will have sold those 500 sunglasses and people want more and more (look at Gymshark). You will create the demand by lowering the supply (even though you just can't produce that much).

Look at Lambo or other companies. Many many cars have a long waiting list because those companies want to create that demand by limiting the supply or at least have super long waiting lists.

I hope, I could help you a bit and if anybody needs some more help, feel free to answer here or dm me!

Have a nice day guys
Alright pal, I like your optimism ( maybe he is the head of a luxry magazine lol) sounds good yeah, appreicate your advice. At the same time i keep insisnting with bots for a specific reason, correct me if I am wrong.
1 - likes = credibility ( many people buy things because other people know about it so the more likes your posts and the more engament , the more credibility from potential customers)
2 - influnecers - some influencers only accept deals with very well know and established brands and this brands always have plenty of likes and engagment on social networks ( with a bot i can re-create the same situation and that might result in a top influencer showing greater interest in my product and also for the same reason he will be willing to lower his price becasue i am sure that gucci, prada,fendi.....they dont pay much all their bloggers aroudn the world, I am sure bloggers with them accept deals in return of clothes or accessories)
3- traffic - bots will boost traffic on mysocial networks page and also on my website as a consequence of it. This meand my chances of selling will be even greater.

Do you agree with what i say? what could be wrong with it? if i do it in a smart way and by targeting accurately my customers without spamming anyone, or even better if i have a marketing company that does that.... wouldnt that be beneficial? alongside with blogs and influencers it could be a great extra tool dont you think?.

No, i dont have them on amazon or ebay! I am making my own website and i will be selling only there! i cant sell on amazon and ebay a product like this, it wouldnt make sense! nobody would buy them....customers need to be on my website to buy them because they can read all the info about the brand and what makes them unique and understand why they should buy them...on amazon and ebay a this stage i would just ruin the customers perception on my products....

Yes it is always beneficial, since you can drive more traffic to you pages like that as you said. However, if you do it wrong, you will only go for quantity reach and not quality and then it will not do anything good and you will just waste your money. Make sure to look for good companies/bots and make sure they are not a scam like s...envy (idk if I am allowed to say the name.

Hahah, yeah, of course i am not gonna use them, i seen them also on some reputable webistes as suggestions to use but i am not keen on them! as i said if i go for bots i want someone to do it manually and where i can see results, i have a list of names and RELAXED SOCIAL would be the one im more keen on but i am always open to alternatives if i can find something better

Just checked out the site of Relaxed Social and it seems a bit weird but if you wish to go with them, that is fine. They have only one plan (99$) and then just offer you to buy it for 3 months or 6 months.

That is fine, but I would rather be able to chose between packages, since it is never really clear, what the client wants. If they buy the cheap one, they most likely only want to get some exposure/engagement and do not really want to get huge amazing results where their sales depend on it. And if they buy the more expensive one, the biz would know, that the customer is more serious about it and wants real HQ results.

But if you would like to go with them, that is fine. If you find better ones, I would go with them!

Thanks for the advie, do any reccomendations on people here on BHW who can do a good job as social media management?

Dude I doubt you need SMM, what is your budget?

Have you tried using Hootsuite for scheduling posts?

Have you thought of syncing your social account with IFTTT?

Have you tried using any of the follow/unfollow/post/like bots for insta/twitter? with proper settings you'll be golden.

When generating all the traffic you need, are you capturing leads with a newsletter?

When blogging, you need to create something interesting but also capture some very low hanging fruit. The fruit being easy to rank keywords, probably only 10-100 searches a month directly relating to your products. Then use your synced social media to share all of these posts.

The reason I would be against social media management is, social media isn't made directly for sales, it is for engaging with customers. Having another company do it (probably a bad job too) removes the personal touch a small company has, especially as you sell high end accessories that people will want specific answers about.

If it's direct sales you're after and you said yourself, you're not too super savy, I might start with a small PPC campaign, with super targeted KWS related to Sunglasses. Either way best of luck, and I think what @MikeyMikey13 said is correct-Social isn't the best medium for direct sales.

Buongiorno, I own an Instagram marketing agency so I have some experience in the matter. I would highly recommend micro influencer marketing for accounts with very high engagement and content quality. Se ti serve pui aiutare sono contento a parlare piu :)

I was in your shoes before so I feel obliged to take the time to offer a few words of advice. All of marketing is about two things: 1) creativity and 2) evolution. You need to get your head out of the minutia of what bot and what service and think out of the box, big picture. I saw you're in Italy. I'm from the US but based in Milan right now. What I would do is some intensely creative offline gorilla marketing right here by the Duomo in coordination with an online launch. Marketing is about making a splash. It's about going BIG, and to go big you have to think big. Bots and techniques will come and go, creativity and audacity will never fail you.
