Hi, I've been lurking these forums for years now and trying to soak up as much information as possible. My original goal was to get followers on Instagram for bragging rights a couple years ago. This transformed into a passion for photography and a couple of contracts with brands and people who follow me through IG. Over the past two years however, I have been attending business school in accounting and have realized how much I am underutilizing the knowledge and possibilities found through this site.

So for the past few months, I have been creating a business plan part-time (I work full time and go to University full time).

The plan is divided into three different businesses, three differents demographics, and three different ways of making money.

My goal is to make $3000 profit per month so that I can quit my full time job while attending university. I believe I can do this within a year.

The reason I am making this Journey Thread on the Instagram forum is because my main strategy is Instagram marketing. I will be botting to gain followers and visitors using Followliker.

Plan 1:

Niche: Photography
Sub-Niche: Travel
Current Instagram Followers: 18.2K
Avg Likes: 368
Average Comments: 11.6

The plan for this account is to dropship my original photography.

My store will be a Shopify store. I have already signed up and am currently on the 14 day free trial.

I am using a Shopify app called CG Pro Prints which offers a wide selection of different print options for custom wall art. They take care of processing the orders, shipping, and customer service. All I have to due is create a custom product through their product creator. They also provide free SKU's for my products.

Currently I have decided on three different options:
Small Canvas = Price ($60) - Cost ($23) = $27 Profit
Medium Canvas = Price ($150) - Cost ($60) = $90 Profit
Large Canvas = Price ($250) - Cost ($100) = $100 Profit

I will integrate my Shopify store into three different places:
Amazon
Website
Facebook Page

So far I have created an Amazon Pro Seller account for $30/M and linked my Shopify to my Amazon store.

I still have to buy a .com and integrate the store to my Facebook Page.

Besides IG I will also be using Facebook Ads or Amazon Ads to funnel customers to my product page.

Plan 2:

Niche: Luxury
Sub-Niche: Hidden
Current Instagram Followers: 68
Likes Per Post: 5
Comments Per Post: 2

This account is currently being warmed-up very slowly, the growth rate as I increase settings should be exponential.

The plan is to create a store where I can aggregate luxury products related to my sub-niche for an easy to use experience. I am also aiming to create a community around this page so that the right influencers will be attracted to participate and buy my products.

I will also be drop shipping my own brand. I have yet to find a way to get a company to create custom labeled products with my brand on them to sell to customers. This would be good as I would only have to differentiate my product for my target audience and not from other dropshippers with the same product.

Plan 3:

Niche: Advice
Sub-Niche: Hidden
Current Instagram Followers: 100
Likes per post: 12
Comments per post: 2

To monetize this account, my plan is to use affliate marketing and e-mail lists.

I will need to set-up three things:
Website
E-mail list
Affliate selections

My website will be an aggregate of the best free advice relating to my sub-niche and will also have affliate product reviews, original e-books, and other products I can monetize.

To build my e-mail list I will use a pop-up on the website. I will be able to send weekly advice with some related affliate links mixed in with the free advice.

Notes:
Plan 1 will be my main hustle, while plan 2 and 3 will be turned into semi-passive income when I finish the upfront work.
For plan 2 & 3 both IG accounts were created at the same time.

Bot Max Settings:

600-700 Follows/Day (Mon-Fri)
610-710 Unfollows/Day (Wednesday-Sunday)
300-400 Likes/Day

Journey Costs (so far):

Sunk Costs
Followliker $70
Total Sunk Costs $70

Variable Costs (None)

Fixed Costs
Amazon $30/Month
Total Fixed Costs $30/Month

Sales (None)

If you guys have any recommendations or questions please let me know!

I can't wait to see where this goes!

Good luck mate on your journey, I just started to explore instagram, 1 account and 20 followers :)

Goood luck OP

today i started the same thing, i have 3 different niche with main account (with shop link in bio) and 15 accounts are promoting that three accounts

Good luck with your journey!

Goodluck bro. Why dont you like more? Are your accounts not powerfull enough bro?

I've been thinking of increasing my likes on my main account, but I don't find it as powerful in getting engaged followers. Usually people would like back but I feel like the way the API changed people don't really like back anymore. I mainly use it to show Instagram I'm a real user. My scrape photo setting is simply #travel 0-100 likes on photo.

It shouldn't be 37$ and 150$ of profit ( small and large canvas ) :) ?

Seems like a lot of work and you may be spreading yourself too thin.
Just my thoughts.

How are you getting people to your sites? Sending them to your bio?

Well botting is basically a free advertising tool, I get consistent clicks on my link on my first account probably from new users.

Here are some of my ideas so far though:
Facebook Ads
IG Ads
Forum Link Dropping
Quora Answers
Sponsored Blog Posts
Amazon Sponsored Product
E-Mail Lists

I'm probably going to test a lot of ideas. Let me know if you have any recommendations. And yes there's a lot of up front work!

Here's a small update for the last week or so:

Plan 2 & 3 are still at the IG warming up stage.

I've decided I'm going to use a layout planner for my Luxury account so I can differeniate myself even more from similar accounts.

For the advice account, I've seen a lot more engagement and people have already personally DM'ed me asking for help. I can see this moving into affliate + original content + personal consultation. I could make a lot of $ down the road.

As for my first plan, a lot has happened.

I've finally created my first listing on Amazon. Shipping prices seem pretty steep so I've integrated them in the price of my products on Amazon. I think people might buy more even if prices are significantly higher but shipping is free.

On my website however, prices are much cheaper but there is a shipping charge.

I've decided that having higher prices on Amazon will be better for my website because I don't have to pay affliates on my website vs Amazon and customers won't leave my website to buy on Amazon instead.

For now that is all.

I still have to list a lot of my products, finish creating my website, and purchase a .com. I also have to start thinking of ideas for blog posts related to traveling and photography.

good luck man 30$ per month on amazon is for professional seller plan ? ( i pay 47 $ for it , wtf )

Hey so I know I haven't put up an update in a while sorry for that. I've been super busy with university (accounting major).

So to give an update.

I've put about $850 in the venture so far and have made $0 in sales.

My photography print on demand website is what I would call a failed business venture. However, I'm not the type to quit.

I'm going to adapt with a new website design, and a different array of products. I don't have time to have a blog so I'm going to eliminate the blog from my website. I'm going to implement a stronger landing page and minimize all the noise to concentrate purely on the products themselves.

Right now, I'm selling picture prints starting at $59. I'm going to give that product one last shot with new marketing material, but honestly, I think I should kill it.

Amazon was a fail as well because of my print on demand method doesn't make me buy box eligible (shipping time is too long). So I can't make ads on amazon and therefore my products got no visibility. I think the only way to succeed on amazon is sending in inventory to be Prime eligible.

I'm going to design posters so I can sell lower priced products, as well as make ultra-limited edition signed framed prints and sell them at a very high cost, which might appeal to collectors more than what I currently offer.

My poster ideas are going to be some of my pictures mixed with motivational shit people love to read. Sell it a low price and hopefully make more quick sales.

As for the #2 page, it seems to be very popular. People love to read every day, I have some loyal readers on IG. I'm going to churn out a 10000 word ebook soon and sell it for $5 on amazon. I'm going to create a Facebook page to advertise it and put it on my IG page as well. I'm also going to create a Facebook group soon so I can have a community surrounding my page and have people help each other and shit.

The #3 page is doing well but I need a lot more income to monetize and invest in it to get it off the ground. So for now I'm building a following on IG.
