Hi guys,

I've been in Internet Marketing (IM) for approximately 3months.

This is my previous project:
http://worldcup2010videos.com
I made exactly $0 from lack of traffic :(

If you ask me to name one person I know who's the laziest bum in the world who doesn't give a fuck about anything, who sleeps all day and does fuck all, the answer will have to be: ME

There's been several points in my life where I was inspired to change. But lack of motivation and consistency really killed it off. Nevertheless I'm a big dreamer. In 2008 I quit uni to join my friends so I can start a business, make my millions, and fly my private jet across Africa spreading $100 bills...1.5years later - I'm in debt, no uni degree, no job, and my confidence is drying out fast. If I'd see that $100 bill flying out of a jet now, I'd sprint faster than any African. Long story short, I feel my life's completely fucked.

I've decided to give it one last try though. That bit of optimism still resides within me until it perishes into thin air. This is the LAST CHANCE I will give myself.

My Goal
By December 31st 2010, I will earn a constant automated income of AT LEAST $200USD per day.

Purpose
1. To go to Spain so I can receive World Class soccer training from a professional team to achieve my dreams and become a soccer player.

2. To have the freedom to experience whatever, whenever, wherever, and with whomever I wish to for the purpose of creating more excitement and joy in my life and the people around me!

Commitment
At least 1 hour per day of FOCUSED + CONCENTRATED business building on what is MOST IMPORTANT

Resources available
Food, Shelter, MacBook, 100mb/s internet.

On this post, I will update a log of what I've done, the things I've learnt, and the resources I'm using to make that happen. I believe it'll be helpful to others who are in the same boat as I am, and hopefully an inspiration once I start seeing the gems!

If you love seeing other people fail, feel free to follow me and see which bridge I'll jump off by the end of this year. If you love supporting the joys and successes of others, follow me and please share with me your kind words of support. I would be extremely grateful :)

PS: Although I'm a lazy-ass and you might think it's not worth bothering with me, I love learning and any tips/advice would be taken with great appreciation so I thank you all in advance

July 26th - lets call this Week 1.

1. Posted thread on BHW to find out which CMS is the best for me to start an online shopping store.

2. Created To-Do list for online shopping store at Basecamp step-by-step:

1st Step: Bare minimum to sell - connect paypal, list products and collect images
2nd Step: Basic SEO to mark presence - keywords, title, etc
3rd Step: Build content - product reviews, FAQ, easy navigation
4th Step: Promote website - use adwords and facebook credit to advertise, outsource white-hat SEO, create video reviews

I'm going to test a few CMS and decide which one to proceed with. Also collect product images and determine - cost, price, profit on excel.

Stay tuned!

I suggest you steal an ebook about self discipline. :)
It helped me a lot ^^

Lets play and jump. Its inspired me. Share your progress report here every week. Thanks

1 hour a day may not cut it... I worked 12 - 14 hours a day to get to 200USD daily.

Yeah, I was more like 16 hours a day. Admittedly I make more now but at the time I had to put the leg work in.

1 hour a day is going to be very hard going to get to $200 a day. Why can't you do like 12 hours a day if you have nothing else to do?

1 hour per day is just to get me started.

I've set excessive schedules before (wake up at 6am, go to gym, study, eat, etc) but it just overwhelmed me and I quit in less than 2days.

If I can commit myself to an hour per day, it'll increase to two over time. As my business builds up, I'll find ways to outsource so I can cut it down to an hour per week :D

So you are calling more than 1 hour per day "excessive". Lol.

Just sit down and work. If you can't get yourself motivated go get a job flipping burgers, as you certainly aren't going to get to your $200 a day goal...

Yeah its all about the motivation.. I work 10+ hours a day not because I force myself to but because thats all I care about. Im not saying you should copy me, because 10 hours a day anyone would consider excessive, but you really gotta want this bad enough to WANT to be in front of your computer working the whole time. You will reach your goal much faster that way. But I am one of those unhealthy crazy types of people that can only see 1 thing at a time. Right now I know what I see.....

I learnt from the 4 hour work week: "requiring a lot of time does not make a task important". I've spent days on projects in the past which I could have done in a matter of hours.

The advice from the book is not yet practical until I apply it but I'll keep in mind to focus on the most important task.

I've once spent like 6~7hrs running around in GTA3 flying helicopters, running from the cops, and shooting people randomly without doing my mission. I've also spent 3~4hours browsing through wordpress templates to see which one is the prettiest. I'll try my best to cut out all that crap to focus on making actual content this time :)

Thanks for the thoughtful advice though! U Never know, I might be stuffing 12hrs/day in a week

You won't get anywhere with your "1 hour a day" attitude. You'll fail again with this complete lack of motivation. You are dreaming of going to Spain to get professional soccer training. It's your biggest goal in life right now. With this burning desire you should be able to motivate yourself to work as many hours as it takes to make your dream come true.

I will say this, 4 hours a day spent messing around is not as good as 1 hour a day working the whole time to build links and content, back a couple months ago when I was making decent money I never even went to BHW, I was too focused on making money. Its good to browse around and learn stuff, but don' t waste too much time with it.

I think you need at least an average of 4 hours a day every day for 6 months to reach an average $100/day. not only that but at 1 hour a day it's kinda hard to learn the whole IM thing because you'll need to read/watch videos or think for yourself what to do and at 1 hour a day you'll end up applying the material weeks later... only to possibly forget some of the details...

Sounds interesting. I for one am in this cuz I'm way to lazy to work 8 hours a day let alone 16.
I enjoy working a few hours here and there when I'm not busy doing more important things. If I wanted to be a workaholic I'd have gone to law school.

Why have you given up on that world cup blog, you could of expanded it into the Womens Under 20 World Cup (which is currently going in Germany), Euro 2012 qualifiers are about to kick off, and so on. Bit of a waste when your domain is going to age and become more authorative, and eventually youd of got some decent traffic im sure.

Oh Well!!

thanks for the tip, I realize I'm spending too much time "learning" instead of "doing" cause it's easier and more comfortable to just read and do hours of research instead of tackling the big fish. I'll limit my research to stuff I really need in that moment.

Damn true!!! embedding videos will only take 1minute per match so I can work on it. BUT there's still the problem with traffic. If you type in my keyword on Google, you'll never come across my website. I've spammed like hell on Facebook and eventually received 200 views/day during the world cup but Google traffic was almost nil. Eventually at the end of the World Cup season I've made exactly $0 so unless there's a way to increase traffic, I'm scraping or selling off the domain on flippa.

Perhaps I should use XRumer or ScrapeBox to blast the website temporarily to see where it ends up...I don't care if it gets sandboxed, I was going to use that domain as a blackhat tester anyway. What do u think??

Well, what are u gonna do about it then??
I also loved making friends who were doing as shit as me at uni. I felt connected and I felt we had something in common.
Except it never made me any better!
If we start NOW, we'll look back at ourselves in 6months time and laugh at how ridiculous we used to be :D

Day 1
Spent approximately 9~10hours wasting time

This is some of the things I did:
-reading forums and internet to find best e-commerce CMS repetitively for ages
-spent hours installing and trying to make Magento (CMS) to work [failed at end]
-posted jobs on elance, eguru, and odesk to create online store. I posted as per hour and the Indian guys ripped me off and said it'll take 40hrs and cost me $400. So I'll DIY.
-collected images and price list (cost, my price, profit) for each product I will sell
-created wp site on completely irrelevant topic to escape real work
-was dreaming about my daily cash-flow, driving my Porsche Carrera GT down the road with my super cute, intelligent gf, deciding which city in Spain to go to play soccer, other businesses I can start after this one to make myself a multi-millionaire...

I learnt a lesson:
-Inspiration that gives you a boost to take productive action is effective.
-Daydreaming for hours about the joys of life once you're rich - you're getting nowhere loser!

***From tomorrow I will implement the "Pomodoro Timer" method to keep me focused.
-use a 25min timer and for that time focus ONLY on that specific task (which is important). After timer goes off, STOP! stretch, clear head, eat banana, play with balls for 5mins. Do another 25mins!

Decisions I made:
1. Use Pomodoro Timer to stay focused
2. Go out and have a social life (read below, it'll inspire u to do the same):
3. Slap myself when caught excessively daydreaming
4. Limit shopping store to ONLY 15~20 products
-to focus on what sells best, and keep me sane (/save time)

Tomorrow I will install OpenCart, go pump up @ gym, talk to x3 girls, and do soccer training.

If you have some money to spend then ask some one to do seo or link building for you with tested tools like
Xrumer
SEnuke
MAS etc

Thanks!! I wanna keep my site as white as possible so my store exists for the long-term. I'll use these tools extremely carefully.

Day 2
OpenCart installed. Took 15minutes. Piss easy compared to Magento (I couldn't even install magento)

The user-interface is extremely easy, clean, and simple and I'll be able to add products extremely quickly with OpenCart.

I've got 3 domains for the exact same shopping niche I'm starting.
I've installed OpenCart on one of my domains.
I'll install 2 other CMS's for my other 2 domains so that they look like they're done by different people + to hide from Google.

[The main reason for buying 3 domains is for the purpose of driving more traffic so I can make more sales]

Tomorrow I will build the content so I can start selling + basic seo:

Content:
-add products, shipping info, connect to paypal for payment, about us page, etc.

Basic SEO:
-submit url to multiple search engines, connect site to Bing, Yahoo, and Google webmaster, re-submit latest sitemap, set title, description and keywords for home page, submit url to DMOZ, mark website presence using below:

I will also use my facebook ads + adwords ppc credit from GoDaddy to drive traffic to site.

I'm placed in an urgent situation where I gotta pay back $1200 credit card debt soon. So the faster I can index the site on PG1 of google for my main keyword, the better. (keyword is not too competitive)

SEO for new website:
Do you guys have any other ideas to SEO'ing a new website?
I don't want to do too much backlinking because it might be risky (new domain).
Should I start link wheeling on Squidoo, Article sites, etc? Any good resources on link wheeling? With submitting articles, should I use SeNuke or should I learn how to do it manually first then nuke later???

Thanks!
