Zero to Hero - Will I succeed or fail in misery?

2000 USD for a top placement...What traffic is that coming into your website? And how much do you estimate that for.

I've tracked down services that advertise on free magazines that are flooded with advertisement of its like. I've yet to establish how much the magazine charges for each ad (big ads cover 1 full page) so the price I set is an extremely rough estimate. However, my friend told me the free magazine makes a revenue of over $100,000 per month on ads.

I'm not sure about the conversion rate for the magazine and it's effectiveness, but I'm sure the smaller ads make very little to no impact publishing ads on these magazines because seriously, there's like 150 ads similar to its niche.

I'll drive traffic from both search engines and social media. I'm not an expert yet in this field so I'll build it up bit by bit.

Joint Venture
I'll be asking one of my friends who's good at sales and face-to-face interaction to partner with me. He will create the content for the site, and call up/visit the services to offer our service. I'll create the site, host it, SEO it, and promote it on the web. Split 50-50. Speed up time and effectiveness.

Will keep reporting!

Hope it's not a loop.

You earn this much

You spread all that $100 again across afraica

You are broke again

I think you are doing a good job here, tracking what you do.
You really have to hit the bottom to fly up top again.
Good luck mate

thanks for the reminder rebbeca.
sometimes when one gets too stuck up in one thing, you can't see another thing (like religion?). I can see I'm starting to go all over the place like I was before when I totally failed.

I've started expanding my projects. However I'm limiting myself to: online/offline hybrid and e-commerce store. I believe it's possible to juggle both projects IF I can prioritize my e-commerce store and then spend time on the online/offline hybrid second (which I've failed to do in the past 2 days).

To make life easier and the project more effective, I'll partner with another person on the online/offline hybrid business.

Thanks!

What you need to START with is to take a step back, relax, and change your perspectives a bit.

No one ever succeeded with anything by being a lazy-ass. Period.

Success requires actual WORK. And i'm not talking about hard work that will pay you a rate per hour, but hard work to build life long assets. I'll work 10 hours for "free" knowing that i'm creating an asset that will pay me every month for the rest of my life. But keep in mind: I do work those 10 hours. And sometimes, they're not that fun.

You've been doing internet marketing for 3 months, and have a $1200 credit card debt. You're willing to work 1 hour per day, until the end of the year, and expect to generate a $200/daily revenue by then.

Man, think about it.

That's 155 hours of total work.

And, from 155 hours of total work you're expecting to build a $6,000/month asset?

Look, I'm not a rich guy. Not a super-successful one either. But trust me. I work full time in a company and have a semi-passive income that generate about 3.5k/per month. That's a nice extra income: But It took me 2 years of study, work and creative website building to get there. Learning, testing, creating stuff, failing and constantly finding new ways to grow my business.

Time spent in total? Oh - I lost count a long time ago. A couple of hours per day at least -And at the same time working full time as an employee.

I only work with niches and website projects I find interesting. No weird niches about stuff I don't give a f-ck about - But actually building websites about things I care about. (If they fail i've at least spent a few hours educating myself and learning more about that topic.)

Now - If I keep growing my asset with +10%/month, i'll reach $6k/month in 10-12 months, but keep in mind that I by then have been working for 3 years to get there. And that ain't no one hour per day work days let me tell you.

So - Why am I telling you this?
Because I, like lots of other people in this business, thought that I could find a magical solution that would get me success overnight. I've been online for close to 10 years now, and seen every possible scam you can imagine. And I know that 90% of the people reading this and other internet marketing forums doesn't make any money at all. Simply because they fail to realize that nothing comes for free.

Not saying to piss you off - It's meant as a way to help you realize that you need to work a bit more to get there. Not saying you won't reach $6000/month, but it's not going to happen by working an hour a day for 155 days.

Get a job, pay off your debt, and aim to make $30 within 30 days from now. Sounds like a boring goal? Well, how are you going to get to $200 per day if you're not ready to make $1/day? And trust me: ANYONE that is focused and ready to work and learn can get there.

1. SEO takes time. There's very few people that can build a website and have it instantly ranked in Google for a number 1 position for a single keyword. They have years of experience or are using black hat methods. Or, they have a network of already established websites.

Doing SEO is no rocket science. in fact, you wont need software or advanced methods to get started. Write relevant content and use relevant headlines, title tags and tags for each page. Internal linking and a website with good structure is often all you need. Install wordpress and a seo-plugin and you are ready. Link building is a waste of time (Wow, that will piss a few people off.) - Instead spend time on building value and the links will follow. That is my truth: And the last 30 days I got 170k absolute unique visitors from Google, and i have never left a blog comment with a link to my website or submit my websites to link directories. It takes too much time, time Ill rather spend writing and producing content that people will link to. And if you can prove me wrong: Well, then ill go ahead and do some link building :)

Keep it up.

Extra:
And, create a excel document or file where you write down exactly how much you've spent and made each day. It will keep you motivated.

Funny how we have similiar names. But i totally agree with him. Success is not instant. Unless you KNOW your method already which 99.9% people don't when they start. They pick a method and it takes month of experimenting fails and success to perfect that method and if all else fails find another method and start building on that one.

Yes with new sites SEO does take time to build authority and backlinks. Working 1 hr a day will get you nowhere. Heck when i started out i prob spend a few hours just alone on forums. Course once i started actually building sites it was pretty much 8+hrs a day from when i woke up knowing what had to be done and just working at it till it was done.

DEBT SUCKS also. Just curious HOW much debt are you in? because it doesn't seem like much if you only commit to 1 hr a day. And also what else are you doing to pay off your bills do u ahve a part time job or living with parents that financially support you? It won't be easy that's for sure $200 a day. It just sounds easy because a lot of people that have gotten there have worked really hard to get there. But they had to go through experimentation, money losses, testing, learning, that's the only way to really learn a method and make it your own. After you have things setup in 2-3 months you may be raking in money and then you can start outsourcing if you feel like it.

I also agree with the programs it's a waste of money to get them if you don't know how your going to use it. Not knowing how to use scrapebox and xrumer can hurt your site more then help it. And also as a sidenote it takes money to make money so i hope your not so much that you can't use money to cover hosting and the basics till you get money to outsource, buy more programs, and scale things up

Good luck with your venture , i believe everyone can succede in Im if they work at it. i may come back if i see this in the topics.

You said there was ZERO competition but then you say you are off to the City to see the product?

I presume the product is in a shop? Isnt that competition? Does the shop have a website? Does the shop have a recognised name?

I hope it does work out for you. After 14 years of internet use, I have finally settled into my ideal job! I work from home keeping my companies website up to date, blogging and using social networking for them. I get paid for 30 hours regardless of what work needs doing, some weeks I can get away with doing 5 or 6 hours a week! Now I have the time to properly look at gaining an additional income, I have toyed with methods in the past with little gain or reward, but now I actually have the time to commit to it.

This is what you need. A job that enables you to not worry about the bills, and gives you time to gain extra money online.

I dont plan to use a shop, I believe there is more money in automated blogs, but only time will tell.

Best of luck though (but I believe that you need at least 5 or 6 hours a DAY to get less than half the outcome you hope to get.

nyc, thats a nice dream for everyone to get a job working from home, but the truth is another matter. I worked for 15 years in the engineering field which is run by old white boys and I tell you that even if the best work at home technology existed, they would never adopt it because to them its all about face time and seeing you sit in that chair in a cubicle.

Tygrus, I know what you mean! Its not all bells and whistles for me, twice a week I still have to show my face in the office, but even then I am unsupervised, it did take a long time to get to this level of trust.

I'm back in black!!!

I started this thread on July 25th. It's August 30th now.
During that month, I've been guilty of slacking off, jacking off, procrastinating, and just being that damn lazy guy I've always wanted to avoid being.

However some exciting updates!

Online Shopping Website
Basically left this untouched for ages until a week ago.
Started adding products, doing basic SEO, filling the site with helpful content, etc.

So far I've had 2 inquiries regarding the products I'm selling even though my site is in the middle area of page 2 on Google (which I'm so excited about changing once the content is done!!!)

My task until August is to:
1. Finish site's contents and fill product details
2. Use Facebook and Adwords credit to Promote site
3. Make site attractive + secure with SSL

CPA Affiliate Offline
I discovered a CPA paying $60~$80 for account creation.
It's extremely competitive and popular so I decided to take it offline...

What do I mean?

I'm starting a commission-based newspaper sales job next week. They take you around places so you can knock on 200~300doors per day. They pay you $60 if you can get a 6 month newspaper subscription (I know, it pays like cum stains). I hate newspapers and I wouldn't do this job in a million years...except now I've got a reason.

1. Sell the person on creating the account (no monetary expenses for customer so conversion would be much higher than newspaper sales)

2. Put fliers through every single door I visit (200~300/day) with information on: Why they should create account, my affiliate website's url

In addition, I will also:
1. Find friends and make them create 10 accounts for each company. Split the $600 50-50, we both smile.

2. Make friends at the newspaper sales job - one who would go crazy over money and has no idea about the internet - make them replicate what I do, make them find friends to sign up, make them go do sales pitches. I'll pay them $20 per account created so I get to keep the $40 :D

[does anyone know how I can keep track of their converted customers???]

Just these 2, nothing more
Those are the ONLY 2 businesses I will do (hopefully until December). I've made the mistake of trying to start many projects far too many times and suffered it's consequences. 2 is a good number.

My priority now is to get the shopping site ready. Then get the affiliate site ready. Then I'm good to go!

I'll keep updating so keep reading to see whether I fail!!!

Hey. Just make it work. People are telling you a million reasons why it won't. It doesn't work for them because they don't think it will. Now, I won't tell you if it will or not. I don't know. Just make it work.

I started "The Challenge 2010". 4 weeks of catch up to do but it's the BEST INTERNET MARKETING GUIDE thats absolutely free. I'm looking to set up the fundamentals by watching this video to help improve my website's rankings, promotions, etc.

Due to extreme exchange rates, my profit was $5 for one product I sold on my online store.

BUT I'M HAPPY I MADE MY FIRST SALE!!!

I'm still in the middle of Page 2 on Google hence no one can find my site.
I gotta start doing SEO ASAP and hopefully I'll make more sales!!

Congratz dude I hope eventually you will put more hours into your work. :) With that $5 will make u want more.

Newspaper Sales Job
Just came back from knocking on approximately 150doors asking strangers to buy newspapers off me. Sold 1, Earned $100.

The conversion is just ridiculous. I'm gonna start my affiliate soon and advertise it offline.

I recommend a great strategy to all you guys!

Offline Affiliate Promotion
Find an affiliate that pays "per sign-up" and one that pays damn well. (the one I'm looking at pays $60~80 per sign-up.)

Visit every home/apartment/mansion/horehouse around and say something like this:
"Hi, sorry to bother you. I'm currently running around the neighborhood one by one to see if you could help me achieve my dreams. I want to become a soccer player and I'm trying to raise funds to go overseas to train. I don't want to ask you for money because I don't think thats right. However, there's a business I started to raise funds and all it requires is someone signing up to an account and I get paid for it. If you could find the time, could you please help me achieve my dreams by signing up to xyz through my website? Don't worry, you don't need to provide any credit card info and it's not a scam. I'm genuinely trying to raise funds to achieve my dreams. You can also check my blog to see my progress. Thanks!!"

I'm not sure if affiliate pay rates are that great over in the US. Here in Japan there's a serious boom in one of the markets that pays $60~$80. But you need to live in Japan and be Japanese. No costs incurred for signing up.

Can't wait to have this system set-up so I can go around 150 homes and get 10 conversions (=$600~$800/day), if not more!!!

This probably won't work. The people will think "oh I will sign up later, I have the link here" and then forget.

I agree with you. It'll be really challenging and I bet 8 out of 10 ppl who say they'll sign up won't. But that 2 who does will be worth $120.

A more effective way is to get my friend who does MLM and pay him $200 for signing up to 10 accounts (hence I keep the $300~400). Get him to invite all his friends and split the cash 50-50. All these ideas are great but my site's not even ready :(

My newspaper sales job is dreadful atm. After going around 150~200homes, I got 1 person who got a 3month contract. Thats $60 in my pocket after working for 9~10hrs...But I exchanged numbers with a girl so I'm happy!! I can't wait till the day a MILF invites me into her home for a....damn, ADD's seriously putting me off-topic.

I have to agree with the others your biggest investment has to be time and that time should be spent learning about IM, researching your niche and executing. I work ten plus hours at a full-time job and spend more than two hours a day doing IM and I feel I should be doing more. Dig in!

More like 199 out of 200 will say they will and forget ;)

Best of luck though with finding that milf

What aff pays 60-70 buck per sign up? Thats payed subscription or just sign up?

Can you clarify please?

What aff pays 60-70 buck per sign up? Thats payed subscription or just sign up?

it's completely free but it requires you to give your:
bank details (NOT credit card)
address, name, etc
agreement to a hell-a-lot of terms&conditions

then they'll send the password by mail to your home. Open that, log-in and then BOOM!! there's your $60.

I can't tell you specifically which market it is because it might become congested, but have a look around for high-paying CPA offers. Can't promise a $60-$80 payout but gd luck!!
