So lets say I get $50 for every sale and my CPC is ~$0.50 for every keyword

At what point do you start removing keywords from campaigns? When you get 1000 clicks and 0 conversions? 500 clicks and 0 conversions? 200 clicks and 0 conversions? Any formula you all use?

This totally depends upon volume and your value per lead. It's relative for each different situation. If you're not seeing any conversions from a keyword yet getting significant traffic, it's usually something to flag and then delete if this pattern keeps up over time.

Thanks for the reply. I just don't want to remove a keyword too soon because you never really know when conversions can happen. But I don't want to just throw away a crapload of money either. I guess that's just how PPC goes though.

I'd worry about adding anough keywords to actually FIND valuable keywords first. Then again that is what phrase match is for, so you can mine good keywords...

be careful or removing too many keywords - even the none performing ones as they can have an effect on the final keyword the conversion comes through on. Ive isolated my campaign to just have the keywords that converted and it destroyed the entire campaign. switched the keywords back on and i was back up :)
