A lot of forums have restrictions on promoting your website. What are the best forums that worked for you in promoting your site?

What do you mean by 'best'?

Bulk traffic that doesn't convert?

Or small stream of highly targeted traffic that has a higher likelihood of converting?

How do you plan to promote?

Links in posts or signatures or both?

Keep in mind that forum promotions is all about becoming CREDIBLE.

Drive by sig spamming or question and answer (1-2 punch posting) won't take you as far as actually becoming an AUTHORITY in the forum you're marketing on.

Also, some niches are VERY VERY touchy regarding forum promotions.

Just some Qs to think about

Forums related to niches you are an expert in, where you could be helpful to the community.

It depends on the niche you are trying to pursue. That, too, is how you will find your market.

Doesn't that depend on your niche? What industry are you working and which demographic are you targeting? If you're too lazy to answer any of those, I can recommend just buying traffic from places like webtrafficgeeks or traffmagic. You're guaranteed to get traffic, though the quality is a different matter.

I would go on SEO websites such as BHW and on forums that are specific to your website's niche.

Are U using traffmagic's traffic for anything? Is it real traff? Is it Adsense safe? Thx.

Join a forum that covers your niche. E.g, if you own a website about programming tutorials, then join a programming forum. Be active to increase your post count. After that, from time to time, create threads that link to your website. For example, "How to make a website in 69 steps" then add a relevant link. Rince and repeat.

Just make sure that it's allowed to do so before registering. Otherwise, it would be a huge waste of time.

So there is no "perfect" or the "best" forum where you can advertise your website - it depends.

Look for forums that are related to your niche. This will be the most helpful for you.

boardreader.com should be a very good place to start. Find a good niche related forum on there, and see if you can increase your post count and then create a thread (once your reputation is high enough) linking back to your website. Otherwise, Reddit.

Head over to Alexa and visit their top site sections: filter by forum, site, gallery or sector types..

After that you should have a list of websites broken down into detail to use for desired promotional efforts.

social media and email marketing is the best forums to get a traffic mate.
