The business I'm working for is moving (same town, less than 0.25 miles away) and I need to update our contact info everywhere. I’ve read older posts warning about ranking drops, but I want to hear about your recent experiences.

I know that we need to work on fixing our high-authority citations before we change it on GBP, but I want to know what would be the aftermath of this all.

Honestly, I'd update GBP last. I'd get all your ducks in a row with the citations, then change it everywhere at once. Did you consider setting the move date in GBP so it updates automatically?

Don’t forget to update schema markup on your site. Google crawls that too. If your rankings dip, they usually recover in a few weeks if everything is clean.
