It doesn't always mean it is monetized. It can also be copyright-claimed. In this case, the channel owner once said that he doesn't make any money through adsense from his channel and that his Yakko videos are copyright-claimed.

although I did check and the person whose idea this was, didn't get as successful as him. He got millions of views but 10k subs. he channel name is zoke i think. I don't know if it was his idea but he posted a similar video before this guy.

That's one way of looking at it. Another way could be that some people want to take their minds off the media-induced stress and be productive with their time. Why not learn to create something that could entertain others and help cheer them up in these dark times?
