The Ultimate Amazon Thread Mark 2 - Q/A - Good/Bad

Just to make the point in case its not clear - the themes I put in the thread are all available for free in the BHW Download Section - so you can just search out the threads where they are located.

Cheers

* Links are in the Site itself - I'm not spamming them externally -- they are in the form of text links, image links or attached to buttons people click.
* Yes it is required.

Thanks, I didn't realize a disclaimer was required. I made the change. I'm glad I didn't get banned.

Cool thread. Personally I've had good success with bh methods and amazon. But I'm starting to look into long term wh systems. Good job on the details so far but you are not touching on the most important thing, TRAFFIC.

Anybody can can have the most informative site but with no traffic or ranking = no sales.

The key to this method is ranking the site and maintaining that rank. If one can do this to any website they could be profitable with many other options and not only amazon.

So that is the golden question behind all the fluff. How do you rank sites and MAINTAIN their rankings? Especially for multiple sites.

Sorry that I can't spend my whole day in the thread and answer every question in 5 minutes - and just write a-z in just one day ... LOL ... but I gotta get my work done as well.

Traffic is by far the easiest part actually ... you want to know why ?

Because you have researched the niche / the keywords and your competition before you start - you have identified areas of weakness in other sites - and you are providing distinctively unique content laser targeting those areas. When your sites show traffic your tweaking your site for conversions and your adding new fresh content to keep the traffic coming.

You also have 10 sites in different niches diversifying yourself from any rankings ups and downs in 1-2 sites and you do not spend anything on Sites that are not performing - other than just basic Seo.

No-one ever seems to listen when I write how I do Seo for these sites - they tend to just go and spam the sites and not let them build up slowly - I know this is because people want sales the first week - but to gain consistent traffic that just doesnt work.

So I will explain from A-Z how I do it - and if you choose to do it another way - well that's up to you.

For the First 3 Months : The only Seo work that is done is the following :

Release a Press Release on a Paid Service - saying the Site is launched offering reviews/insights/why its a great product and about the accessories you need - or that the products stand out individually and why people should come to my sites and read about them.

I take these links and distribute them through Twitter Account / Facebook Account or pay someone at Fiverr - then I go to the site and Pin Images from the site.
Then I go to Add Me Fast and write tweets - retweet some tweets ... get likes and repins......... these I do slowly I don't mass spam these things.

Next I Bookmark the articles/site -- then I submit an article on the main product outlining what makes up the product why its distinctive and of course to find out further information, best
deals and accessories. Then I go to PDF Sites and submit 1 PDF a week with links to my site and pages.

Then I set up Google Alerts for the keywords and when I can add a comment to a site related I do so.

So this is all I do for the first 3 months --- then I analyze the traffic and make sure I am now getting a constant flow of traffic from Google search ... If I am not then I keep going for a little while with basic work and see what changes I may need to make to the site itself.

Assuming now I am getting search traffic I then move into the more Intermediate Seo Phase.

Web 2.0 to money site - then all sorts of links going to Web 2.0 as you would any normal Seo Campaign.... just as you read about in just about every thread - or buying the services yourself.

The Seo campaign then revolves around - how much traffic is the site getting / Sales ----> doing well -- more content - repeating process and moving to advanced phase.
not doing well ---> re analyze and if nothing found to change/improve then just do basic Seo.

Whenever the Site moves into its "Hot Phase" I release a paid PR.

As always which really goes without saying but I will repeat it for people who don't follow things well.

Introductory Phase = spread the work over 3 months - just steady work not spamming anything..... I use a Whiteboard to write down the tasks for each day out to a week - then update for the following week.

Intermediate Phase = establishment of Web 2.0 network and building a link velocity dependant on the results of sites ... there is no point building links too quickly for Pool Pumps in the middle of winter but there is need to increase in summer.

Advanced Phase = analysis of niche / traffic / site ----> and adjusting to what the site needs.

So what I normally see is my Site in the Top 3 and the other stuff built being 10-15 places of the Top 50 with links to my site - so no matter what level the keyword is ... the Site will make Sales.

All of this assumes that you make a good site on a more advanced template / optimizing the site and making some mods to it -- adding Seo Plugins and configuring them correctly -- and using proper images.

"So that is the golden question behind all the fluff."

If you think making a proper site with good content - modded with proper images / links and set up with plugins configured properly is "Fluff" then I think your in the wrong thread.

No Seo Strategy in the world can rank and keep a badly built and configured site on Page 1 -- that's just the way it is .... I welcome you to start your own thread so I can see how much money your making from Amazon every day ...... I'll keep my eye out.... cheers.

Thinking about it - as you do after you make a long post ..... I wanted to add something that I feel is ultra important... and people have commented on this a few times.

I seem to spend money and have tools that others simply don't have or cannot afford. Yes that's true -- but you don't need them to start - research is your friend and now with Social Networks you can get cheaper traffic than when I started.

Some people may also feel this is alot of work -- well yes it is - the first day you start it is hard to get it right 100% and know everything -- but after a couple of sites --- the time spent decreases alot - then its just organizing the daily work and analyzing the data. With CMS Commander I can log into any site with a click .. I then just order the articles and process them by schedule into the tools -- I make Ubots if things take too long --- so now I have a streamlined process .... anyway it is what it is .. I don't doubt that this will not be for everyone.

op would you do a keyword research on competition using tools like MS or TT or any other , What is the criteria that you use to take a domain name for example if it is cannon EOS 500 model camera then will you go for EMD like "cannonEOS500.C0m " or do you go for root niche like cannon "DSLRcamera.c0m" do you take competition analysis of domain name into consideration if it is an EMD

@ bobgoe,

If you use cannon in your domain name, it will be a domain name infringement. Do not use company names on domains.

No corporate names in the Domain.

I don't do it this way myself as I have been doing this long enough where I know what the main words are to look for.

But using Keyword Squire as an example or any of the other keyword tools too - makes no difference.

Add in your main keyword and let them scrape up thousands of long tails - reduce the number down by filters and then look for a nice domain that matches the terms.

Also this part is up to you somewhat -- if your making 100% Review Site then your domain would be slightly different than someone making a Store Site or someone making an informational site -- the domain filters the traffic coming to your site - so that's why it is important ... its not so much any perceived rankings benefit that may occur - and in fact we all know now EMD has not advantages really other than helping you filter traffic.

Your Using Cameras as Your Example - so there's a difference between - BestSportCameras2013 to The Sports Camera Store or Taking Sports Photos - Perfect Sports Photos - Top Rated Sports Lenses
I know nothing about cameras and I just made them up ... but spend a bit of time figuring it out as it is important.

Received a whole bunch of PM's asking me questions that is not related to this thread of how we have discussed doing Amazon so far -- I am not an expert on Amazon Videos/Amazon Scraper Video thing in the download section / Azon Stores or those other type of short term products that you see -- those products are made for the short term not the long term .... so I am just not the guy to ask for help with those.

I've had a few Amazon videos but I know nothing about that scraper video product you see around BHW.

To make it quick:
1) How many articles do you make per day on each site, 500 words?
2) How many visits per day this type of sites have after 3 months in average?
3) How long in average to get to 100 visits per day? (Or this sites get less than that?)
Thanks a lot for the help!

1. I don't add an article per day as per the thread it depends on Sales.
2. Completely depends on the site/niche and how the site is established - it would range between 0-100
3. depends on your keywords and position in Google ... and you have to remember you will never see 100 per day everyday anyway - Items are not popular 24/7 365 days a year - traffic will rise and fall each month/season.

Your trying to pin me down on one particular site - really this doesn't work that way - as 1 Site is just not enough on its own .. each site has its own benefit but also its drawbacks... I talk in averages across 30 Sites - you talk in terms of that being the case with every site - its just not.

Danny1111, I just wanted to personally thank you for your amazon advice. I have an amazon site that I have been working on since June 2012, with no sales and no clue what was wrong. I have been very inspired by this thread and wanted to let you know that I finally got that first sale. The item was around $400 and was from a review that I put on my site.

If I can do that by just "winging it", I am very confident that these will become more frequent when I implement more of your advice. Thanks again for all that you have shared.

I have started my new journey with Amazon since August but haven't succeeded so far. The conversion is really bad and I feel so encouragement to continue doing Amazon aff.:(

Well I can tell you that if you feel discouraged and your trying to use stuff from earlier times where the quality is not so good ... then just start over and redo your site.

I say this because looking at some sites - many still use crappy cheap looking themes - and regular Amazon type buttons and always just use Amazon Images ... I think you gotta realize that we can't fool Google at the moment - even if you get away with it for a few months -- you gotta lift your game and give them what they want.

Also someone above posted earlier that what's the point Google is Google and you can still get screwed even if you provide quality sites .... well that is a defeatist attitude and if thats the case 100% of the time then we all need to go work at McDonalds.

We can sure talk about other ways to earn with Amazon and stuff like that - but I would prefer to get the first Seo way that makes me money everyday done first.

I cannot say enough - yeah its boring - yeah it takes a while to learn all the little things that makes the site work - yeah its a pain in the add to mod a theme and configure the plugins correctly - get the graphics right -- but as I said above - for long term good rankings - all these things matter right now -- so for every short cut you take your just leaving money on the table.

Probably lastly - I think or hope from reading my posts - everyone realizes that 1 site is just a start - you are going to need 10 when you figure this out to really have a consistent monthly income - I've tried to explain 100 times that no matter what the numbers keyword tools spit out - you will find sites sell in cycles .. that's just the way the traffic flows/needs and income go for online shoppers.

You gotta study / learn and take action with this method that's just the way it is ---> in return you will make Sales.

Let's just get it out there what I have experimented with and failed.

1. Magento Sites - for some reason these things just refuse to rank well - convert poorly and in general for the effort you put into them - are just a waste of money. Maybe if you have your own product and such it would work better --- but for Amazon stuff - wordpress has proven to be way more reliable and more importantly ranks better in google.

Yes I might make 1 Sale a week still - but its not like the 20 50 or 100 or even 150 Sales I see from Wordpress based Sites.

2. Subdomains - I made one Site with content and created 20-25 sites underneath it - as Stores with links from the main page - for the first 6 weeks - made quite a few Sales maybe 40-45 -> but then Google saw through the whole thing and deindexed everything and traffic went to zero .. so yeah made money but was no good as a long term strategy ... and I just felt like it was a waste of time.

Tried and Jury Still Out

* NFL2011 - method of landing page - affiliate links and posting on Ad type Sites -- I got tonnes of clicks but not sales - but I was trying to sell $1500 products basically do of course that would be a factor -- my thinking was 1 Sale would make it worth while -- instead of messing with $50 items that you need to sell alot of.

I think that if I up my game on Landing Page design - pick better products - make better ads and use more cities it definately has promise -- so I will get back to this method at some point.

50/50 Methods

For people who followed my other thread they will know that I was using Pinterest to sell products on their own and was having decent success with that - well I have changed my method slightly with all Social Networks now -- I only use them to promote my Sites overall -- so I am looking for a better overall web presence for my sites than getting too aggressive on any one product.

Thats why in this thread earlier I said to use some of the Social Exchanges to get a bunch of likes repins etc etc at a slow pace .. and don't go overboard with it at this point -- Google is Fickle so I'm not interested in giving too much away to them at the moment.

If you tried something and it worked let us know // if you tried something and it failed let us know -- and let's discuss it as maybe it would help to hear it from other people than just me.

What you should be doing right now is :

-> Picking products
-> Doing Keyword research
-> Buying domain & host
-> Setting wordpress theme (premium prefered)
-> Writing content : Making reviews about the products or making articles targeting the "type" for products (exemple: wireless routers)
-> Starting basic SEO (knowing that you already optimized the on-page) : http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...search-engine-optimization-2.html#post5069058 Here is a good plan to follow
-> Keep track of your statistics and analyse your data

Before starting all this, take the time to plan everything in your head and on paper (yes PAPER!). Until now, Danny1111 gived us all what we need to know. It's up to us to make it work or not.

Need more info ? Take the time to read the first thread and see how he built his empire (if we may say that) :

Good luck everyone and thanks again Danny1111 !
