Taffic without backlinks by just posting? Doesn't work for me

yes, this looks nice and this is what I also did. I used the Ultimate SEO plugin to do that but the problem with that plugin is that you cannot display more than 5 articles per silo on a page.

btw, what did you mean with "water-tight"?

You can't have site-wide top navigation bar (I seem to remember ultimate SEO had this) as they break the silos

Some people try to mask these links with nofollow, javascript, etc. but its best not to have them, rather than try to hide them from the search bots

You can't have related posts type plugins

You can't have tags

You have to take any silo busting crap out of the theme

In the end we had no choice but to supply plugin/theme packages - or there would have been endless support issues with people using their own themes, and them not working properly

Funny you should mention only 5 articles per silo - we had a bug, and that happened to us as well - only 5 articles showed in the navigation - but it was a coding error, and we soon fixed it and now show all the articles in a silo

The silos really must be water-tight - if the silos leak theme, the whole thing unravels

I have an idea for you, make backlinks.

well the only way to get traffic to your site is thru a link.. its not rocket
science to figure that out.. if someone searches a keyword that you
happen to be on the first page of google for.. they click on the link that
google has linked to your site.. your content has to be look at as being
authoritative to get traffic.. so if your have a brand spanking new site
then its going to have to be connected to another site or sites that have
authority or you direct people straight to your site using other
methods such as ppc or email marketing or buy traffic
.. just my 2 cents

Zero-backlink experiments are becoming increasingly popular. Matthew Woodward runs one with his blog. But in fact he's promoting the hell out of his content. Even though he might not be doing link building in its traditional meaning, here's much into promoting his posts in social media, building relations so that people promote his posts - and that's where traffic comes from.

Thus, traffic without backlinks is not about posting content and waiting for people to come. It's about promoting this content to bring direct traffic instead of building links to bring organic traffic.

You can rank without Backlink if you content good . Backlink just additional thing that related with SEO , you can do or lazy to do .

Yes, I know Matthew's blog, it's really high quality. And yes, he is doing promotion for it but does not create backlinks himself, so in fact, he runs a blog about seo which gets 100% natural backlinks, what an irony :)

But I was more addressing people like SEO Nick or this blog: http://blog.2createawebsite.com/2012/08/06/build-traffic-with-no-backlinks

Let's more focus on this kind of traffic generation - really with no promotion AT ALL!!!

Im a fan Matthew's blog and he did a zero link building method to build
his blog. He's actually going to being doing a over the shoulder study
of how to build a blog in a 2 months or so that i will be following that.

Now looking at the blog post that you posted. It is very interesting and
intriguing. There are some key factors that you have to keep in mind
and be aware of that is stated.

1.
Starting with the fact that before getting into the meat of the post, it is
stated that the article cant be "written without mentioning how risky
it is to rely completely on search engine optimization."

2.
The Wordpress authority niche website was basically "an experiment to
see how far a website could get today"
and honestly "didn't expect
to the site to do well"
and keep damn near everything Anonymous.
*deepblack.. You might have treated your site as an experiment but It looks
like you were expecting to get similar results off the bat

3.
Even though backlinks arent being created manually, "the site is earning
them naturally through other blogs who link various articles."

The focus isn't on chasing to get backlinks because they are just coming
slow, natural and steady which is exactly what Google likes.
*Think about this deepblack.. you just created a blacklink to the blog post that
could be the website

4.
"Finding the right niche and angle is key too"
*Not only is the niche you choose important but also the way you approach the
niche itself.

These factors have to be taken into account when attempting to build a website
without manually building backlinks yourself in the manner that is stated in the
blog post you listed. This is very intriguing.

Even if you pay attention to all these things, something is fishy here.

There are people who simply replicated this "don't care about backlinks"-approach and some
have great success with it (read in the comments section of the above blog post) but some
again have almost zero results.
there must be something which is still not quite clear or people are deliberatly hiding something.
