Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask opinions based on your experience as a software seller or software buyer. Which of the payment models make more sales for you? Which are you more likely to buy from a seller? Assuming the product is top-notch and flawless.

Example:

Monthly subscription say $59
vs
Yearly subscription $399
vs
One-time fee $799

  • You are Missing Yearly Option OP
  • with this price differentiation i will go ahead with monthly choice, and see if i can make the real use of it/ get the best as i expected in a quarter/month based on the software and decide later for further subscription.

It depends on the product/project, but more often than not, I'd go with monthly. My main concern is buying a lifetime license, just to have the software go unsupported a year later. This could happen for any reason, and I've seen it with some popular software, especially in the blackhat space, so I just like to stay on the safe side.

I did buy a bot before for $1k, but they didn't have any smaller monthly plans. But I felt it was a safe investment considering were way ahead of the competition by a mile, well known, and were definitely going to be around for years to come. Another example is Photoshop. For some reason I just don't feel like spending a few hundred, even though I use it pretty often. I used to pirate it until I learned about their monthly plan ($10/mo I believe), I think that price is more than fair and I've been comfortable paying ever since.

rankerx price that is, i can tell.

See it now... Plans Updated. What will be your choice in this case when there is 3-day free trial in each plan. Assuming only one plan type is strictly possible at a time.

Ah, I just saw your link/product. Definitely go monthly with this. As someone who purchases specialized scrapers and services from time to time, I probably would have looked at the price tag and left. There's already other established scrapers on the market that have more features, with far more attractive price points. One that I bought 2 years ago and is no longer supported, was priced at $50/year. Then the replacement I found cost me just $100 for lifetime license, and is still going strong (I found both on BHW).

I might prefer yearly package in this case, but again

  • It all depends on the experience i get in those three days
  • Your competitor prices
  • The software model ( If gets effected easily on timely basis with some updates on regular codes/platforms ( Like social medias etc)) i prefer monthly
  • Reviews I can see from reputed member online or the people at least that i can recognize and believe.
  • How long does the seller exists in the market ( if its new - Go with monthly )

Subscription model anyday.

If it's something that costs you money everymonth - Go for subscription. i.e. tracker/cloaker or any other solution where you'll pay fees for use.
If it's one time cost for you - go lifetime model. i.e a bot - you don't need to pay any fees but what you can do is upselling (proxies for bot... vps for bot... captcha solver etc) so that you can keep putting time for support and you'll have better chances of selling subscription service now (as upsells). Or you can sell additional functionality like scrapebox does.

Every model works at the end; you just need to provide what works best for you and your consumers.

Are you planning to offer lifetime support for that product for free? Because that's what you're doing by offering a one time fee.

Hmm. I see more points to go monthly now.

That might be a better option. What does your software do?
It does targeted scraping of Instagram (Name, email address, username, phone no of any specified IG user's followers) and YELP (Business/product name, phone number, and location by keywords).

Then I added email marketing service link back to my web page in the software itself, just in case users also need to clean their scraped list. I deliver list cleaning manually. List cleaning software is also available to buy in the website. But the scraper is the main focus though.

And this will be launching soon. am Just the I am planning my payment model now.

I was just looking at your email list validation page, the prices are almost similar to never bounce, cleanify and zero bounce..:anyway:
Does the quality matches? even if it matches, i guess you need to reanalyze that pricing section.
Just my 2 cents.

It's still a dummy price. I am updating that definitely today itself. :)

Monthly is a way to go now.
I go yearly only on a product I've used for a few months and am certain will continue, thus yearly to save the money.

One-time fee - never ever used it for the last five years.
