Stop paying for proxies - Learn how to setup your own proxy company

well i got rid of that error now i just get:

init_cache_dir /var/spool/squid... Starting squid: [FAILED]

This works however I havent figured out how to get this to work with my entire c block that I have on my box. It currently only works on my main IP. Does anyone know how to get it to work over all IP's?

Are there any reccommendable public proxy lists available?

regards

I looked into this before and squid is a very well known software but.....squid only does http proxies, not socks proxies! So what do I use to make a socks server?

nice share, now only a nice control panel plugin with paypal is needed :)

Yeah, having your own proxy server really rules. But don't forget about server costs - depending on what you want to do with your proxies. XRumer proxies for instance would be somehow more expensive.

Still, this makes absolutely sense - even for private use - and I had my own proxy server in the past. Think about it: Buying 10 IPs is 10$. A VPS additionally 15 $. How much do you pay for commercial proxies? Halfway the same. But those commercial proxies come with a big problem: your are sharing usually with (many?) other users.

For people who are asking about the provider. There are a few:

1. ubuiquity
2. burstnet - nocster (they have some cheap servers if you check out the sale section)
3. limestone
4. Pretty much any provider that can give you more than 30 ips should be fine. Just don't go overboard.

ETC.

The whole idea is. WE DO NOT WANT EVERYONE USING THE SAME PROVIDER, or they will block list the entire network block. So I would really appreciate if you guys be a little creative in finding vendors.

You should be able to do the same with VPN providers.

All you pretty much got to do to find more providers is:

1. Use a proxy provider yourself for like 1 day
2. Do a trace route back to the ip address that they gave you
3. At about the 2nd to last hop (or 3rd to last) it will give the proxy provider network information (the company they use to host their server)
4. Write down that info and google it.
5. Then sign up with your own server (or lease a server that they have).
6. Use the guide above and it will help you to do your own proxy company or operation.

Hope this really helps out everyone :)

I also hope that the proxy providers here don't get mad with this post :)

Look at it this way, now you have less liabilities :)
