Stop Building Scholarship Links -10Beasts Case Study- !

Hello World! I'm not an expert at all, but I've been in IM for 1 or 1.5 years and currently making between 500 to 1000$ per month constantly through Amazon Affiliate Sites - I've also some chun n burn stuff -

People who worked in the Amazon Affiliate + SEO thing know 10beasts very well!

If you don't know, simply it's a website started I think late 2015 or beginning of 2016, ranked on Best Wireless Routers & Best Routers in the Top 3 after several months through Scholarship Links.. " There was some other ways but the most powerful one was the EDU links. "

His revenue per month was from 50k to 20k .. after changing the commission of Amazon's affiliate.

I also did the same thing in the beginning of 2017, Scholarship links, It worked but not powerful as it was in 2015 & 2016 due to spamming, I picked universities with less numbers of external scholarships but still Google don't value it too much as before.

So I used it as a side technique not an essential one.

Last Week, one of my website got a strong G fuck*(* update and most of my links for this site was Scholarship links.

Not only me, the guy Luqman who created 10beasts also got this update but He sold it for 600,000$ on Empire Flippers before this update " Smart and Lucky :) ".

From my little experience, I decided to disavow all scholarship links or simply delete the scholarship page on my websites and I won't build it anymore. However, I think EDU links are still powerfull but not the Scholarship Links.

That's it, what's your opinion guys?

Not smart and lucky, but dumb and fraudulent, he also stated that he didn't used PBNs on the Empire Flippers listing.
 
Doesn't really make sense, honestly those links are being added by an actual webmaster and there are tons of legit links there.
They wont penalize your site for using those links as they will need to penalize all of the sites there and there are tons of real legit sites.
And BTW, you can't make sure those links are the cause just because one example.
I was providing this exact service and worked with tons of clients sites and my sites, and yet, none of them was penalized.

Note: I'm not providing the service anymore for personal reasons.
 
I think it got f**** because it got famous .. so google panelized it manually in order to stop others from repeating the same process for same gains

basically it gets on google radar. There are several posts about this strategy and current google guy john muller specifically mentioned this technique and the coming penalty .

Again, they might make it juice-less, but they can't really penalize every website that uses scholarships links. They will hit tons of legit businesses.

What are you saying. their nonsensical easy to spot PBN got reported.

Did you see it? Text on their pbns made less sense than spun text, there were not working fake buttons all over the place etc.
 
I'd also say that it was more likely because of use of a PBN, and publicising it.

I looked in depth at the site about six months ago to see how many EDU backlinks they had. Despite the widely publicised method of scholarship links, most links (that could be seen) came from marketing sites, not from universities.

Scholarships might have initially boosted the site, but I think the longer term success was because it was well touted as a case study in how to rank.

since when did google started to care bout businesses? The moment some link building technique with proven results gets out on seo blogs like seo roundtable, its destined to be penalized.

Moreover this specific beast site got some serious attention from seo's because of its extra ordinary rankings with just 8 10 pages. There are couple of threads on BHW discussing it, heck the owner himself made a case study and posted it on his blog.

So basically the site had it coming, sooner or later.

Scholarship links won't skyrocket your ranking so easily, talking from experience.
There were more factors involved probably.
And again, they can remove the juice from those links (I doubt it) but they can't penalize every one who uses them, as the link is there for a LEGIT reason.

And yeah, Google cares about real businesses/sites, they can't penalize everyone who uses this method legitly (not for getting the links, but actually for giving out scholarship), just for getting rid of the blackhatters.
 
Why do you guys think it is from scholarship link? There are ton of legit scholarship with legit businesses, this case looks more like a manual review.

Oh that's for real? He mentioned many times that he didn't use a PBN for 10beasts but maybe he isn't saying the truth because of the manual reviewing specially that he put his website in a public case study.. seems logical.

I'm totally agree with you if the case that he used a PBN and he mentioned that he didn't.. Who know if he really used PBN or not?

Protip: You can edit your posts.

No matter what kinds of link you build, if you overdo it and won't cover yourself, you will get screwed. Simple as that. However, the main issue with 10beasts definitely weren't scholarship links. :)
 
I can confirm OP's hypothesis 100%
I was #5 for a keyword. I got a bunch of scholarship backlinks and I was actually pushed to page 2. I did nothing else besides the scholarship backlinks. And these were not the phoenix.edu garbage that every retard is going after. These were low OBL schools that a lot of people have not even contacted.

Scholarship Links working but not as 15 and 16.
 
i dint have any so i can't say.
but this conclusion because of 2 pages in irrelevant. where the 2nd even belong you and you dont know what he did to his pages.
