Starting Again

Hello BHW members, I took some time off IM after my Adsense account got closed, I was making about $70 USD a day just from one website. After my account was closed, I was able to get it restored and then got hit by the Penguin update which set me back to second page (from #1 rank for over 6 months) and am now making peanuts compared to before.

I'm not too sure how to rank this page anymore since everything has changed and opinions are very contradictory nowadays.

I was looking to start all over, from scratch and wanted some opinions on what you would do were you to start everything again. I'm open to any suggestions. Something I was thinking on starting was a website on the pickup/dating niche which I'm proficient in writing about but need to have a clear idea of what I'm going to do before starting.

Anyone have useful advice? Also, should I try save my old website (based on health niche) or try to sell it? It has all original content written by me and currently makes a few bucks a month.

If your site only dropped to the second page, I wouldn't start over. That just means google devalued some of your links (not a penalty/sandbox).

I have no idea how to get it back to the first page though, I used to just scrape high PR ******** forum backlinks and add posts manually, got my PR to 5 and was #1 for a long while but have no idea why any of the pages would be devalued (or do you mean backlinks?), could I PM you the URL?

Yea just do some quality backlinking, web 2.0s maybe some press releases and wiki links(manual only). Then build a tier 2 and 3 to get the juice flowing on the links you build. You'll get back on the first page no problem with a little time.
