Hey all,

I have a domain with pretty good metrics, but it's completely irrelevant (niche-wise) to my current project. Is it worth redirecting the domain to the new site or will it hurt my rankings?

Cheers people!

I once tried that on one of my sites and I went straight to Page 1 in days and it was stucked there for like 2 Months, I made some money though, but ranking is now finally dropping to where I was initially

Instead 301 redirect, maybe you can post some niche related contents and link back from the article, or link to your Tier1, this is what I read here.

I strongly recommending you, don't ever thing about redirecting which is irrelevant to your niche
I also think so, redirect one domain to another irrelevant niche is not recommended.

I strongly recommend you don't listen to any one else.

Use it as a PBN domain. Sell the domain to "another person" (you but with different details). Change hosting away from your money site, add privacy, add lots of relevant content, images, videos etc. Link once or twice to your money site. Contextual links, even on an irrelevant domain are more than worth it. I have almost 100 PBN domains all absolutely irrelevant to my money site and this, unlike the above posters, is my experience and knowledge on this fact.

If you let the domain drop and don't listen to what I've said, then PM me the address I'll snap it up once it expires and leech the power, thanks.

surrounding a link to your money site with relevant content on the domain is probably going to bring better results than just 301'ing.. so basically, instead of doing it the lazy way.. putting some effort into making it quality link juice is always worth it=) does that help to answer your question?

The fact that the domain is not that important. It's less important than everyone thinks really.

Problem is the idea to 301 the domain. 301 is... bullshit. Even if you do everything right, it takes weeks, sometimes months to see effect. If you will see it at all that is.

Make a PBN site out of it. Try to find some connection between the domain name and/or the niche of the domain with your current money site niche, put there articles related to your new niche and you are good to go. The niche relevancy is terrible overrated. It's sure good to have it and it's a huge bonus, but it's not a thing that makes that much of a difference as many people here think.

As said above,I hope its not worth to redirect one domain to another domain with irrelevant niche.

In this case. Build money site on this domain (same niche). Build some backlinks with niche anchors and then 301 after sometime.
