Shopping-CMS vs. Wordpress

Hello guys,

I want to start an online-/offline business, and already ordered goods in China (Wholesale), which arrive in the next 5-7 days.
First I just will sell one product (because I do not have a huge start-capital to invest), and link to the other products on amazon, to earn at least 5-10% from the total amount. And here it is, the question I have to you:
Shall I go with an Shopping CMS and try to link the "Put in the cart" button to the amazon-product, or shall I use Wordpress with shopping plugin for this?

My php/css skills are between zero and 0.5% of what it needs to develop an own theme for that, I simply can make some changes in most cases, so that I need to hire a programmer ( friend of mine could do that, but not for free) if something big needs to be changed. Wordpress is easy for me to use, I have worked with WP for several times, so that would no huge problem to install & configurate the plugins & themes.

In the middle and long-term I want to enlarge my product-sortiment, and replace the amazon-links with the usual shopping cart-link.

Can you give me advice which plugin/CMS would be fine for me?
My requirements:
-different payment-gateways (paypal, invoice, maybe amazon payment and so on...)
-easy to use & create articles
(-safe by law against German adhortatory letters)

Better use wordpress free e-commerce plugins and hire a developer to make some tweaks as per your needs.

Wordpress is easy dude. Stick with what you know.

I'd choose something that has Paypal support at a bare minumum.

Yeh, wordpress is easy to setup and start but i dont recommend it coz the only one thing i dont like about wordpress is speed.

You don't like that it's slow? I'm pretty sure it depends on how much you've optimised it dude. Any website will be slow right off the bat if you just chuck a whole bunch of media on it and don't do anything more.

Nope, i am talking about plugins. As i like to add much features to site so it becomes slow after too many installations of plugins. So to overcome this problem, we have to find what plugins causing the problems. As the op talking about shopping website it requires a lot of plugins and site may slow down due to mis-configured plugins.

I think I will go with WP, I used it before for other projects, and I know most of the settings.

About speed: In the first few Months (year?) I will only have 30-50 articles in this shop, and advertising and gaining a "fan base" will be my main activity. So I think just putting "WP Super cache" or a similar plugin will deliver me the speed I need for this to work good, and it will be not a huge amount of traffic in the startup-time of the shop. for the long haul you are right: a professional developer should optimise it, or change it to a completely professional shopping cms, to make it work smooth if the sortiment has grown.

And what do you recommend about the amazon-links? Has anyone does that before, and can give me advice on how to link the "put in the cart" button with my amzn-ref-link?

yes its better to use WordPress and then install plugins for your e-commerce needs.
