100%. Many people get very virtue signally around times like this too when during his life they didn't even really care about basketball/him.

It's sad how he died, as it is when anyone dies suddenly with their daughter in such a violent way. IMO OP doesn't need to say RIP but he did, he hasn't been disrespectful or rude, but only asked about an opportunity to make money on a money making forum. If he doesn't sell tshirts, someone else will because there are people that want to buy them.

If people think it's wrong to profit from someone who has died then fair enough - everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I think OP has done nothing wrong or inappropriate by asking this.

Would you go to a funeral and look at a number or a photo of the person? There's nothing disrespectful about showing a dead person's face unless you're an Australian aborigine, which I'm assuming you're not.

off his death, but for me gotta sleep at night, and I would not want to deal with
the hate mail you are going to receive from Kobe fans all over the world.
I would probably make the site more of a Tribute to Kobe, with facts, trivia, ect.. then it's not
just another site profiting off his death.

I'm usually very moralist, but I don't see what's so wrong with this. People will want to buy his stuff to remember him. I'm sure his own brand will do the same.

I think even a moderator has suggested this in the past.

Kobe shirts have always been in demand and have always been a good and profitable idea.

Now he dies and every noob has this great idea. It may be a good idea but you will be jumping into a market where there are already well established businesses selling Kobe shirts with lots of existing great Kobe designs.

You have to start from scratch. All they need to do is tweak their marketing and tweak their designs.

Not that your idea won't work but it's not some super idea that can be turned into something profitable if you don't already know what you are doing.

Many marketers do well jumping on a sudden hot trend. But the most successful ones know how to quickly come up with a decent product, target the market and drive massive traffic to their business.
