My team and I are looking for an experienced full-stack developer to help us integrate a custom payment gateway with Shopify. Below is an overview of the project and our specific requirements:
Project Overview
We’ve developed a custom payment gateway plugin that works seamlessly with WooCommerce. However, we’re facing challenges integrating it with Shopify due to policy and technical constraints.
The gateway supports:
• Credit and debit card transactions
• Fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-crypto payments
Challenges
1. Shopify’s strict policies regarding custom payment gateways and limitations with their Payments API.
2. Our plugin currently lacks sandbox/test API keys, meaning testing must be done with production keys or alternative methods.
3. Managing chargebacks effectively while maintaining support for high-risk transactions.
Your Role
• Analyze Shopify’s API documentation to determine the feasibility of integrating our gateway.
• Identify and implement technical workarounds for Shopify’s restrictions while ensuring compliance.
• Collaborate with our in-house developer to handle API documentation and implementation.
• Provide guidance on any Shopify-specific requirements or modifications needed for a smooth integration.
Ideal Skills
• Proven expertise with Shopify API, Payments API, and third-party app integrations.
• Experience in developing or integrating e-commerce payment gateways.
• Creative problem-solving for testing solutions in production environments without sandbox keys.
• Knowledge of high-risk transaction handling and chargeback management.
