Hi guys,

Just wondering.. Regarding PPV..

Is there a way to track referrer URL and a click on the Landing Page?

Without an "intermediate" page (containing tracking javascript) or a destination URL...

Example:

I embed the Google Search bar on my landing page. Thus, there's no "intermediate" page (since I can't control the Search button url value) and there's no absolute destination URL (as it all depends on whatever the user types on the search field)

My question is - How would you track in this scenario?

Basically, what i prob need is something like crazyegg or clickmeter but with the ability to track referrer as well..

I believe crazyegg or clickmeter only tracks clicks and not the referrer url..

Is there already something out there that does this?

Read the threads and posts made by str8hustler.

any tracking system like p202,cpvlab, etc.. i think most if not all tracking systems do this because well, they are tracking systems and that is what they do and why they are used..

unless im misunderstanding what your trying to do, any proper tracking system should do it

Hi, actually what i'm trying to do is track a landing page which contains an embedded search engine provided by the merchant..

So since it works like a search box/engine, there's no definite offer or destination url.. My affiliate id is automatically tagged when the visitor types something and clicked the 'Search' ..

Most tracking system would require a specific definite offer/destination url to track the click, right? So in this situation where a search engine/box is being used, how can i track since there's no one specific destination url?

So, the only way I could think of is by tracking the referrer url that pops up the landing page and see if there's any click activity happening on the landing page (which contains the embedded search engine)..

Or could there be an easier way?

P.s In a nutshell, I guess I would need to track "a search engine embedded on a landing page" instead of the normal "CTA to one specific destination/offer url".. Thanks..

Thanks guys and special thanks to str8hustler.. This has been solved.

And this threat can now be closed..
