These results are just with topical authority and Basic Clean On-page SEO. Let's see how you can do this.

You have to cover the main topic thoroughly throughout the website. How do you find powerful topics that create topical authority?

Step #1: Competitor

Yes, you read it right. The one who is ranking at the top in your niche then he is topically powerful that's why he is ranking. Directly go to its blog or open its sitemap and note down informational keywords that can help readers.

And now connect these topics with proper keyword research and make an extensive content plan. But make sure your content text should be clean and easy to read and your presentation must be better than your competitors.

Step #2: How to, When, What, Why, Vs

You can’t imagine how powerful this is. Just go to Ahrefs/SEMrush, add the niche, and then go to questions. In this portion, you will get untapped low competition keywords that can bring a lot of traffic and also makes your website authoritative in your niche because you are helping user from all aspects.

Step #3: YOUTUBE

Yes YT, go to YouTube and search for the main keyword of your niche and start exploring. This way you will find those issues which people are facing but you and your competitors are not targeting. Create a proper content plan and help users ultimately Google will help you.

Step #4: Google Search Console

If you have an old website then go to search performance report and check those keywords for which you are ranking but didn’t target directly and create content around it.

P.S: Each informational article must be optimized in the same way you are optimizing commercial content.

now the important questions :)

1) how old is this website?
2) is it fresh domain or expired one? If expired, what's its DA / DR and RDs count and quality, and the d0follow / nofollow ratio of its backlinks?
3) how many articles did you publish, and how long are they?
4) did you force-index this content or did it get automatically indexed (after how many days)?
5) did you use any schema (which one/s) on your site or you just wrote the content, published it, and went on vacation and when you came back you were simply ranking?

how exactly do you do step 2 in semrush? I just got semrush 30 days want to explore this

@Fahedawan Thank you for bringing our attention to this underrated thing - Topical Authority. We tend to forget it during our day to day activities. :anyway:

In one of my projects I have created a niche site and I am rewriting the top articles from my competitors site. They are ranking top in that niche and have wonderful DA/ DR. I think if I replicate their content in much better way, as you suggested, and work on the backlinks to achieve the DA/ DR like them, we too can top the SERP's like them.

I don't think this coorelates to topical authority. I have almost 0 topics authority and can easily rank top 10 some long tail 20-35 kd 9k volume keywords without backlinks. Its all about content and on page optimization for low kd words. Topical authority is a myth.

You can do it by adding main keyword, and find Questions and then make a comprehensive plan.
