Just wanted to ask a few questions
1) Is this still $57 lifetime membership?
2) How much of my HOME bandwidth will this use for each full run?
3) Is this a really effective backlink builder? I want to start building backlinks to some sites that are doing well, wondering if this is a good piece of software to buy and whether or not it's safe for my main sites?

Thanks :)

v1.12.8 Uploaded

  • Multi-Threaded Harvester up to 2,000 Threads total.
  • Bandwidth Reduction with Google Harvesting
  • BlogEngine Moderated Checker Addon Available
  • Export "Captcha" entries in poster
  • Confirmation during "Trim to Root" if "Confirm Delete" is active
  • Select URL's to Compare on a Root Domain Level
  • Editor for local blacklist integrated
  • Tray icon fixed for some users
  • Captcha handling rewritten (decaptcher.com)
  • Blacklist reminder now allows to download the blacklist right away
  • Auto Remove Duplicate Domain for Harvester added
  • Fix in Engine and Pagerank queries
  • Several enhancements and executable size reduced

For the moment, the old single threaded harvester is still available via the "Settings" menu. But the new harvester is quite quick, some people have been hitting the 2,000-4,000 URL's per second range with it which is about 1/4 Million URL's per minute.

Also "Select URL's to Compare on Domain Level" will allow better control by not posting to the same domain as a previous run rather than just removing specific URL's.

Thanks for another great update! Noticed a couple things right off the bat with the public release (I usually start from hyper-critical tester mode where I smoke test a new build for critical bugs in how I use it to observational mode once it's in the wild lol).

First, small but nice enhancement - the blacklist reminder now offering to download updated blacklist straightaway. It's a small touch, but it saves a few mouse clicks, a bit of work, and (most importantly) a bit less wear on the carpal tunnels.

Second, sbox is now retaining more of my customisations after applying updates, which is nice.

The big things that are announced are great - the multithread harvest rox. But the small touches also add up to make the app better and better.

Any ideas as to why I am getting a 403 Forbidden for the scrapebox.com website and also why my SB doesn't update?

Thanks

No idea sorry, the site is up and there has been zero downtime on the primary server in the last month according to Pingdom's 60 second monitoring.

I was getting timeout errors while updating but that's resolved now.

I am however finding that all proxies I harvest are now returning 404 access denied. Is there any way to get more sources added?

I just got 59 working proxies from just one source (one of the smallest) so there's tons of working proxies. If you are getting "404 Aborted on Request" it means your machine is terminating the socket before ScrapeBox could receive a reply. So try dropping your threads, and raising the timeout to suit your connection a bit better.

I believe the current BHW discounted price is still $57USD currently. The current public price is $97. And a lot of users wish that the app was more expensive because we KNOW it is under-priced currently.

It's not a subscription app, so I can't really speak about lifetime membership, but Sweetfunny has said before that updates will be provided at no charge and has honoured that for all purchasers.

Bandwidth is highly variable. It's been discussed in this thread a bit and I did a bit of testing which I posted in another thread (that search box will help you if you're interested - search for scrapebox bandwidth thread or something like that).

As for effectiveness and safety, there's been a lot of discussion about that in this thread. I'll let others hazard answers if they wish, suffice it to say I'm quite happy with the results of it. It's a powerful fricking tool, but you can give a powerful tool - say, a semi-automatic shotgun - to an intelligent adult, and they will use it well. Give that same gun to a crackhead, and well, the results won't be so positive for us.

Bought some proxies from yourprivateproxy.com and harvested some sites.
When I ran the auto commenter (for blognegine blogs) with a bunch of different emails, commenttext, sites ect. it gave me the "posted, moderated" message.

But when I opened it in my own internet explorer without any proxies on the comment went through just fine without the moderated stuff.

Why is that?

Once again... delete your cookies and load the site again. You will probably see your comment isnt there... Its only the cookie that let you see the comment in browser... But its not really there until moderated.

another thing is Scrapebox shows diff page ranks than SEO QUAKE. any idea?

Diff PR checkers often show different PR results. I've seen threads here on BHW discussing or debating the PR results of various checkers (including SEO Quake) and it seems like there can some discrepancies between them.

scrapebox not increasing my ezine article view Since yesterday. t's probably ezine articles that has changed it's script settings to block cheating. I wish ScrapeBox Team to find a solution as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance

Once again... Greg is right. You need one unique ip per view... If you hammer your article 100 times with 10 ips you will only have 10 more views. Because revisits of the same ip wont counted...

I am having similar problems. I have downloaded the latest Adobe Flash and I enabled "Don't prompt for client certificate...." and I am still have to babysit Scrapebox to dismiss this error. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get rid of this error.

Running IE8 on Windows 7 (32)

Thanks in advance

There's only so much you can do without jacking your system's security so low that it becomes a digital tramp, just begging to be infected.

And there's only so much an app can do when trying to interact with web sites whose security settings are tweaked (or hosed up, you pick the adjective you prefer).

I have a suggestion for the Keyword Scraper

perhaps out of realms of this tool, but after keyword scrape would it be at all possible to addon something to get the amount of google Results for each keyword?

Great tool thanks and love latest update!

My main worry right now is bandwidth as I'm limited to a monthly cap and don't want to have my internet slowed.

It looks good I must say and a steal at the price, if you can answer this though:
Say someone was to do 500 blog comments and 100 forum accounts (successful), so 600 backlinks that day on a 2 year old site that hasn't had much backlink work done, would you need to run this program and get 600 backlinks a day for a while and is that possible? I know you can't build 600 backlinks in a day and 2 in the next month, but does this program do it a little too fast that you'll be penalised?

I'd love to purchase this, but don't want to see my sites drop off Google :( - I guess testing is what needs to be done, however that is a risk you need to take.

Oh and is forum account creation, etc automatic or is it like Angela/Paul's backlinks where you need to signup to the forums and post the link manually?

@gregstereo - trying to reply to your PM, but it just won't let me load my User CP or PMs, anyway I'm off to bed since I can barely keep my eyes open, thanks for the help :)

Newest bug comes with latest version of scrapebox :

Decaptcher balance shows 0$
Multithreaded harvester works wrong. I added 30 keywords to the list and started harvesting. (I used site: parameter). I opened 10 threads. But every single thread harvested each SAME keywords instead of different keywords, so it is pretty useless and it only wastes time.

I hope someone can prove me wrong but I dont think this tool creates forum accounts, can only scrape forums according to the footprint you put into harvester.

Like I say I hope I'm wrong ;-)

Bug on Windows 7 :

When you click tray icon to minimize scrape box and try to maximize after the commenter window does not show! I can not restore the commenter window. This version contains a lot of bugs sweetfunny

In under 2 seconds it's already fetching the second page for all 10 keywords.

Understood about capped bandwidth (that's painful - I'm on unlimited, but I understand how it feels from having used capped proxies at times). Do you have a way to monitor your overall bandwidth usage? If not, there are freeware apps that could do the job for you. it's just such a highly-variable thing, depends on so many factors, but maybe the info in my bandwidth thread will help a bit. I was hoping other people would add some results to it as well, the primary workstation for my bandwidth testing has been up and down a lot lately.

The app can make backlinks very fast if you choose, or you can throttle them. Another factor to consider is that the search engines (and especially big G) seem to index blog comments fairly slowly in comparison to other indexing operations. So, say you try to make 500 backlinks a day. Of those, presume that 50% of them pass spam filters, moderation, etc. That process takes a bit of time (spam filters are pretty instant, moderation usually 80-90% of the lazy sods erm blog admins do moderation within a day or two, but some (like me - laziest sod of them all when it comes to modding my autoblogs) only check and moderate comments every week or two.

So, you now have ~250 new backlinks popping up, most within a day or two of a comment run, and the rest over the next week or two. Then the SE indexes see those slowly, over time - big plus.

Testing is really essential. I run a lot of tests on some horrible sites I have that exist for no other reason than a) my abuse and b) Cyrillic-language comment spam (damn I love the Russian spam).

There's also a lot of good info here on BHW about sheltering your names, including a fair amount about using parasite domains or properties (you know, OPP - other people's property - think squidoo, ezines, gobase, etc. with links back to your money stuff) to protect your money sites.

Youre right. It scrapes blogs and can comment there. It can be used to scrape forums and every kind of site you have a footprint for. But it doesnt create accounts of any kind...
