I've actually had some decent luck with this technique if you dig deep there are tons of gens out there in all niches. Good luck!

Read into the link outreach literature on the web. Don't expect that everybody will be happy to put a link to your page on their website. However, it's not very hard to compile a list of the most relevant webmasters in your niche and send them an email (personalization goes a long way).

It's what people usually call outreach and it works very well. Works very well, like latnemele77 said, the key to success is personalization. Many publishers/site owners get a bunch of terribly generic outreach mails daily, I personally have a spam filter in place that instantly trashes all mails containing "dear site owner" or "dear webmaster" or "dear owner of [domainname]".

That is one of the best strategies for promotion of your blog. You can propose a partnership to the bloggers in your niche to create a link or button with your logo leading to your blog. It will increase traffic on your blog.
