one Wordpress doubt

fellas
new bie here.i have started a small blog using wordpress.i wasn't paying attention to it since the last 3 months.now when i logged in again 3 days before,I saw 10k+ comments.Really stunned at first.then when i went inside,i realized that those all are some bot comments,with more than 20 links in each 1 comment.all of them are awaiting for moderation.i unable to delete whole,as there might be any legit comments!.Please tell ,how can solve this,and prevent my blog from future attacks!!.

PS: i wasn't using captcha in my blog.No i have added it (Google recaptcha) ,but even after then,i got 20+ bot comments today.
Urgent help needed ..Experts...

You should installa Akismet to prevent more spam comments, now for deleting those comments maybe you should try to create a SQL query using IPs and executing it in PHPMyAdmin

Akismet has the option to auto-delete spam comments over one month old.

For your situation, this could be a workaround:

yes,i appreciate that.But is getting that much spam comments daily is normal!? is that happens with everybody??

Yeap, I got 10k a day for a week, then just 10-50.

Are all those comments being caught by akismet? Because if not there's something wrong with your config

If you're running Akismet correctly, I assume that all the comments are in the "spam queue", and there's a button called "Empty spam" that permanently deletes them all.

As for the amount of spam; yes, that's (sadly) very normal.

there is an option in wordpress to close comments,, better use those options to avoid comments in future,, you will never receive comment and of course you can be on the safer side

If you have akismet then probbly all those bot comments should be in the spam list. All you have to do is click empty button. Also like someone else suggest its maybe good to disable comments for week or 2. Also disable comments for posts older than month or so.

why to activate comments? Remove comments This will completely solve the problem.
