New Flipping Site

Hi guys,

I'm sure like many of you, I got tired of flippa for buying and selling website. I looked at alternatives like sitepoint and of course dp forums. I found all of them filled with scammers. People simply looking to rip everyone else off. I was a victim of this myself. I bought a site for 2k from someone in India. I thought cool, I will pay with my CC and be protected. The truth, I was not protected at all. I ended up having to pay 2k and now had a worthless site.

Luckily I had a few websites that I built that I could sell off. I made basically the 2k back by selling 5 of my websites. I sold them all on flippa.
This cost me 19 bucks plus a success few of 5% as I told buyers I would pay this. I am sure I could of sold them for more but because upgrades at flippa cost so much, I could not afford it at the time.

I said to myself, this is bs. There must be something I could do about it. I said buying and selling websites should be like real-estate. If I am doing all the advertising and bringing in all the potential buyers I should make something back.

So flipurr was made reality. I am going to offer ten times what flippa offers at a third of the cost. I am creating a amazing flippa alternative. It is currently in beta development right now as there is a ton of programming code to write and I am doing it all myself.

Luke, I have already designed a rating system as well as site verify. Analytics verify will also be there. Basically anything flippa has, we will have, only better.

Nice I highly appreciate your project actually i was also planning to do so but for some reasons i cant. Also inform me when launches. the big problem you will face will be ranking or marketing hope so you will tackle that nicely. Any support needed i am always there.

Marketing I am planning on doing the standard articles, seo work. Then through word of mouth/forums. Thought about doing some adwords as well. Do you have any suggestions other than what I have said?

Facebook advertising, ADWords, Article Marketing, etc.



BTW, may I ask why flipurr? I understand "flip" but the "urr"?



EDIT: Also make an option for relisting if the auction doesn't sell, but make sure people get a 50% discount or something similar, and they can edit their listing.

Be a bit careful with the site design - and you might want to reconsider the name. It would be a shame for you to put effort into this, launch and brand it, only to have Flippa's lawyers come and hunt you down / shut you down. IANAL so I don't know if the domain name similarity is judged bad enough for this - maybe there's people with experience or knowledge on the matter here who could comment. But importantly - don't do a similar logo, or look-and-feel, color-scheme etc, as tempting as it might be. You're not making a parody, it's a for-profit business venture. Good luck!

Flipurr is a play on words, sounds like, flip her, or flipper as in flip your site. Thats why the name I choose and the dolphin theme for the flipper .

I am not worried about some australian lawyers, but that is secondary and mine will surely deal with them if anything.

are you big on any other forums? jw. your new here, welcome. love the idea haven't dealt with flippa but i understand how big companies usually have shitty service (CL, ebay, paypal, need i go on) will read the blog

This is the first forum I have posted this on. I will be posting on others soon. No I am not big on any other forums. I am just starting to market the site, have a guy writing some articles etc.

All I'm saying is think ahead - you only start once, make wise decisions. Make it easy for yourself. Yes it's a play on words. I get it. That's what the problem might be. In fact, why don't you just run it past your lawyers first - will be well worth it.

Yes you can face some lawyers as flippa has copyright for his name i read somewhere on BHW i have also good sound domain name of five words shoot me PM for that.

Flippa and flipurr is much different especially in copyright law. Will shoot you a pm
