After seven months, it was time to give some news about my little business.
It's running by itself. In the beginning, I made a few cents a day. Then, in September, it started to progress well. While it is a “seasonal” site, today it generates about 300 visits per day, which is not bad at all.
On some Google queries, I ranked in the top results, almost without doing anything. More precisely, I simply wrote the content. But I didn't really work on backlinks or social media presence.
Concerning the traffic, if at the beginning, it came mainly from Facebook, today, it comes mostly from Google.
Let's move on to the point that interests everyone: profitability. This month (February), the site brought me $50. Time spent on it in February? Two hours in total. Expenses? $0. In January, I earned $42 and in December, $33.
I really ran out of time, but now I'm going to be on “technical unemployment” (understand: no particular activity in my official business) for a few weeks. I'll have more time to keep developing it.
Among the elements to develop, there is my backlinks' creator robot.
I discovered a kind of loophole that I think I can exploit on a larger scale. But being a nerd, my goal in life is to do as little as possible. So I started working on a bot that would do 95% of the backlink building for me.
The lessons I learned from this:

- bet on their greed (they want everything, right away, and especially that it does not cost them money);
- you can make money with anything if you know a little about it;
- the simpler a content is to understand, the more profitable it is.
