So 2 day before I installed a plugin Contents table which is for adding contents table to all my posts(something same as in image)
seattle-toc.jpg

And after this my all posts ranking got dropped. It has been 2 days since rankings dropped.

I am sure this is the main reason of my rankings because my on page was excellent and I didn't get any manual penalty or if some automated penalty was there My rankings for all keywords wouldn't be dropped because many of them are white hat SEO.

What you guys think for my dorp rankings and if you agree with my reason then how much time does it take back to rank at an original position?

Correlation does not imply causation. While it's entirely possible this change is responsible, I'd figure it to be unlikely. There are plenty of websites that use a table of contents and rank just fine.

That said, it is an algorithm so if that change really did cause your ranking drops then removing the table of contents should fix the issue. As for how long, I couldn't say. Days or weeks probably.

I use the table of contents on my sites and I haven't experienced any negative results

In my niche , top websites are using table of content. I do not think that will impact the rankings.

may be my rankings dropped for a while and after some time it'll come back

OP, unless you can show that ALL other people who installed the plugin got crushed in rankings, all you have right now is CORRELATION

it could have over optimized your keyword density. but typically a table like that will do nothing to rankings. could even help

Anytime you change the actual content of your page, your are risking a change in rankings. For you, it seems maybe this lowered it (temporarily or permanently). For someone else, adding this could raise them in the rankings. This is a good reminder that if you have very good rankings, sometimes you just want to leave it alone and let it age and gain links naturally rather than risk a penalty or negative change from Google.

I don't know your fault or google , recently my site kinda suddenly drop in traffic . I check from web master is it got hit , perhaps I have too much backlinks or what , since my site go live next year dec .

It never show any message , , I don't know perhaps due to google side .

So you basically changed your internal linking structure? It's normal to drop or dance in this case.

This is what I was going to say.

OP, did you remove a page from your site that had the ranking content and put this Table of Contents there instead? Did all the ranking information get stuffed under each page title in Table and now it is hidden? Whatever content on your site that was giving you link juice, must have disappeared and now Google can't find it. If you had a site map activated on your site, it also looks like this may have kicked the map out the way and now this Table is acting like a site map. A long time ago, I redesigned a #1 ranking niche site of mine thinking it would look better. All it did was drop in rankings and lose traffic because I had put all the content in a photo/infograph, rather than typed out on the page. Google could no longer find the once popular information, so it looked like it was no longer on the site, and they stopped sending people there.

Major lesson learned: Don't touch something that is ranking and converting just fine.

If you use keyword in H1, H2 and H3, it will show in table of content and will increase keyword density.

So you have to be smart here.

Use synonyms and LSI keywords instead.

I don't think so. May be you are doing some mistakes in your ON PAGE. Check that properly.

I got one on my blog and this hasn't affected my ranking in a negative way. Must be another issue my dude...

Maybe it's a coincidence with a SERP dance? I don't see how a table of content can be that impactful.

I actually think a t.o.c. can have impact on your ranking. Some table of contents will turn your h2 and other headings to urls which looks like independent pages in Google Search Console.

They all do that; hyperlinking H-series tag. Though there are controls for which one to target in the plugins.

Honestly I think that could throw Google a scent or 2, but the best practiced SEO is patience.

It's likely to be the culprit for the OP but speculations are a dime a dozen in this world. Don't fret it.

I've using similar plugin on a few of my sites. Never experienced any problems.
On the contrary, Google displays some of the H-level links as sitelinks, and people click on them.
Unless your content is very thin, this plugin can only help your rankings.
