I've got alerts set up through google and everything. Aside from the disavow tool, what other ways can I prevent negative SEO attacks on my website?

To prevent negative SEO attacks on your website, You should seriously take action for your website like, Find out the duplicate content on your website to get free by Google panda & also check your website link to save to Google Penguin.

It's ok also to detect, from which country/ip your site gets a lot of attack and block it :)

No duplicate content on the site at the moment. Just worried about someone buying a bunch of shitty fiver backlinks to attack my site.

Hey, you can check that in webmaster tools, it will show if you have external backlinks and you can disavow the links from the potential bad website
