Need Help Selling on Ebay

I have amazon gift cards which my colleague gave me as bonus and I want to turn it into cash. Someone told me to sell it on ebay for a good price, but I dont know how to sell securely on ebay since there are a lot of scams. I just hope some brilliant minds can help me. Thanks.

You're better off selling them to coinstar or companies that buy giftcard online.

I disagree, I've sold gift cards many times.

as with any item sold on ebay, yes there is a chance someone can pull a scam on you, but they can do that with -any- item you list.

So far I've not had a scam attempted on my gift cards to date (Only sold 10-20 or so to be fair)

just make sure to state exactly how much is on it, when you ship make sure you have tracking, and list it for a little less than what it's worth (Typically I do 18-19 bucks for a $20 giftcard), the store its for will determin how close to full value you can get on it. For example a walmart gift card will go for almost full value, but a small non-nation wide store may go for half price, just do your research first.

also make sure you do not reveal the pin in your pictures

The cost to sell it on ebay has proven to be cheaper than other options I've seen (Granted I haven't looked all that hard)

Well its a bonus from my colleague. And I just have 2 e gift cards .

you can print the card information on a sheet of paper and mail that with tracking, while still sending the actual info immidiately after purchase via email/ebay msg/etc

you COULD mark int he listing "you will not receive any physical product as this is a digital gift card. Upon purchase you will receive the cards information via email within [timeframe]" - but if anyone opens a case on you, you will instantly lose due to no tracking information to share

furthermore i'm fairly confident if anyone decides to claim the gift card didn't actually work, ebay is going to side with them. Theyre pretty clear about virtual items - there's little to no protection for a buyer in the event of a dispute.

With that said, I've sold plenty of giftcards and not had any issue to date with it, but be warned.


*EDIT* you could also try buying something with them to flip on ebay. you'll lose value but it'll be a safer transaction when selling
