Dear everyone,

I need help by improving my position on Google. I tried a few techniques, but any of them has yet to work..

I have a almost 6 months old blog now, with over 30 unique articles. The keyword I?m targeting only has 129.000 results and approx 40.000 searches every month. My main page?s position on Google is currently on top of page 2. (I need to get on top of page 1!!)
My problem is that I've been stuck on the top of page 2, for quite some time now. Page 1 is dominated mostly by a few different pages, owned by the same corporation. Their webpage?s aren't really optimized for SEO, additionally the nr. 1 result has almost 900 ingoing links; many of these links are from sites within the niche, owned by them.
For me it?s impossible trying to share link etc. with good sites in the niche area, because they are more or less owned by the company.

What?s the best technique for improving my position? I tried making a simple linkwheel by connecting 7 websites (squidoo.com, wordpress.com, blogger.com, livejournal.com, blog.com, blog.co.uk, weebly.com)
The sites all have an article of around 300 words each, fed with my keyword, and a link to my main page and a link to the next page in line, so it?s ?like? a wheel.
Though I?m having a hard time seeing the wheel getting indexed, therefore missing the effect on my main page. I made the pages 5 days ago, and sadly they still haven?t found their way to Google.

What should I do to get on top?
Please give your suggestions, bad and good, everything will be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Yours sincerely

High Pr Backlinks. Try angelas method. Theres a guy here on bhw offering it for a reasonable price. That should move you up a lot depending on the competiton

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with Angelas method. I don't mind paying for the tips that'll make me move a step further to the top - and I also like to do the hard work myself.

Any other ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

Basically try and find a list of a bunch of high page rank directorys and sites, then post your link on them so you get backlinks. That way you get their pr juice ;)

hat are you using to manage your blog?

have you any onsite optimization in place?

I'm currently using Wordpress with a SEO optimized template, and the plugins: SEO Smart Links and All in One SEO Pack, Google XML Sitemaps.

if your using wordpress i understand that it can generate an RSS feed for you, have you tried submitting your optimized RSS feed to sites like feedagg?

and also submitting it to pingomatic?

You can also do a search on here for RSS Submitters and submit them to hundreds of RSS sites.

I would recommend continuing your seo work by expanding keywords.
