Hello there!
I'm pretty new here but I've been lurking for quite some time, now I think it's time to show my cards and let you know what I'm doing and planning to do over the next few years.
I'm an Italian guy and I've been working in the design field for the last 6 years or so. I'm opening this thread to keep myself motivated and hopefully help someone who wants to follow a similar path.
Enough with the intro, let's talk about the journey.

What I've already done:
The goal is to get client commissions through the website/cold-emailing/social media profiles while building an audience and selling them affiliate products and my own through online marketplaces.
What do you think about it?

My plan:
- Create a Portfolio Website - Blog where I'll showcase my skills and write useful content, targeting both businesses and designers. The content will include informational articles, free products (an ebook and various templates, stuff like that) and tutorials;
- Sign up to Amazon affiliates and insert Affiliate links in Blog articles and Ebook;
- Upload digital products on marketplaces and link to them from the Website/ Social;
- Reddit - Twitter method (is a paid method from a member here, so I won't talk about it in details, just show earnings (big thanks to @jefis );
- Create Social Media profiles (Twitter + Instagram + YouTube) to share the content from the Website and drive traffic to it;
- Build a mailing list through opt-in from the website and use that to send weekly updates and offers.
What I've already done:
- Wordpress website (locally hosted now, will buy hosting and domain in January)
- 3 500+ words articles
- A couple of digital products
