This thread is not about how I am going to make $500/day or make an infinite moniez stream. Although those two things sound superb, my goal is to sign one.single.client. I started an advertising company that serves a particular niche. I have great knowledge in this field but when I have to find clients, my skills are poor. If someone could give tips that would be great! Subscribe to this thread.

when i started offering web development...i followed a simple routine
would pickup a yellow pages....call some local business...and try to get an appointment of a week later,,...once i have 3 appointments ...
i would sit and make a presentation (keyword research , how much the business will benefit from a web presence etc)
would wear a suite with a tie ...
i guess rest depends on your marketing skills
    all the best!

Well, if you have a particular skill in a certain niche, and you let us know what it is, you may find a potential client who would be interested in enlisting in your services due to your previous experience.

    Just my $.02

You have to consider your advertising company as your first client.
How can your company stand out from all of the other marketers that are going after
    your clients?

Before you contact any more potential clients, do a little research and find out
a few things about their company. such as:

have they won any awards, written articles, interviews etc anything that you can
comment, congratulate them on. Business people love to talk about their business.

Stop trying to sell and try to become a trusted consultant.

This is it. Let your potential clients talk and make some notes in front of them. Repeat what they say to you.

80% percent your client has to talk, the rest is yours.

These 20% is your time to become your potential clients best friend.

And a friend is trusted in every way. Now you can sell your services again and again.

Contacted 2 more clients. Contacted one through email and one through facebook. Email messaging is not being too effective. Tips?
