Hey All,

Let's say you are inserting month/year are any variable which needs to be changed as time go. For example, I have built content on SEO in 2019 which will become absolute in year 2020 since no will be interested to read SEO article which focused for year 2019 in the year of 2020.

You can update required changes in 1,2 or 3 easily but think how it will be time consuming if you have more than 10 article which can have plenty of variables which needs to be updated every time.

this trick will help you to do changes in one shot.

  1. You have to install https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcoder/ and have to create shortcode related to your chosen variable, I have created shortcode for referencing year and month.
  2. I will keep referencing these short codes in my every article where I can think that inserting month or year can boost my SEO. For example, instead of inserting August, 2019 in article, I can insert something like [sc name="month"], [sc name="year"] which will insert date and year in the format 'Month,Year'.
  3. Now whenever month or year gets changed, I have to update only shortcode and changes will be replicated to all article where I have inserted these shortcodes.
If you're using yoast SEO plugin then you can also insert dynamic changes in Snippet and Meta description by inserting variables. Please refer https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/

Implementing these changes your article will be super up-to-date where variables plays important role to drive traffic.
