I used a keyword research tutorial and course a while back, and my rankings didn't improve.
Other self-proclaimed "SEO gurus" already cover many of the stuff the person giving the course was teaching.
Do you know what works? Stuff that I picked up on this forum.
The interesting thing is there are lots of tutorial threads.
You can start with those, but I suggest going beyond them.
The real gems are not found in threads that are stickied.
Real gems come out when people drop their guard and let you in on their secret during replies .
So look for honest conversations on this forum, and you'd be surprised as to how much useful and practical information you will get.
Theory, at the end of the day, is not going to put food on your table.
Results will.
Sadly, for many people looking to make a quick buck or who don't have time, you have to sift through many discussions to find gems that lead to results.
It's not going to drop in your lap.
And a lot of stuff covered by tutorials is either generic stuff that all your competitors will be using too or outdated.
