If you have a case for your warning to be lifted early, you will need to contact the moderator who gave you the warning.

They are under no obligation to remove your warning, but if you are calm, polite, and explain your situation, then the mod might see fit to lift your warning early. It is up to them in the first instance.

If they say no, then you can appeal against the warning to an admin, but you must speak to the mod who issued the warning first, otherwise this will be seen as mod surfing and you could get yourself another warning. And nobody wants that.

No matter what, you definitely shouldn't send PMs to every mod or admin, as well as submitting a support ticket, and a report, and starting a thread on the forum to complain. That's only going to get our backs up - our mods get enough abuse as it is and we have a zero tolerance policy to any kind of mod abuse.

And now you've been warned again for attempting to mod-surf. The details of what constitutes mod-surfing/mod abuse is at the bottom of this thread here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/updated-bhw-member-levels.889577/
MOD SURFING / ABUSE:
The following counts as mod-surfing and will result in your account being infracted or banned for mod abuse:
  • Sending the same PM to multiple mods
  • Asking the same question multiple times to get a different answer
  • Trying to jump queues by emailing or skyping mods
  • Asking mods to remove another mod's infraction
  • Complaining publicly about a specific infraction or mod
If you had gone through the Newbie Guide, you would have been able to find a thread outlining your exact issue here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/i...lace-thread-can-you-remove-it-for-me.1040795/

far as i no if a mod gives you an infraction you have to
contact that mod if you believe its unfair.
only if you believe your treated unfairly can you go above
them and pm apricot or damian admins.

i will only say this. in 10 yrs ive had 3 over turned but you
better be dam sure 100% what was done to you was
not deserved . be 100% sure , or just ride it out until feb.

breaking the rules and saying im sorry after probably wont
revoke an infraction. only in extreme cases if a mod has
over stepped will help come from above.

Is there any way to find out which mod issued the infraction after its not on the recent alerts?

I issued yours and you didn't learn from it as you tried to sell twice since then but all I did was remove your promotional posts and sent you alerts.

Thank you for your response, I didn't realise I was acting against the rules, checked the newbie thread since then.

I actually have a warning point for a parody/satire post I made a few weeks ago, which because of the title I believe the mod took seriously (my mistake, not criticisng the decision) this is what I was referring to. Was hoping to appeal this decision so I could open a marketplace thread but think I will leave it for now since I may have skirted the line with my posts today which were meant in good faith.

Please respond to the PM you received when that warning was issued and we'll talk things over.

moral of the story never mess with mods :D

If I have been given a violation but it has an expiration date, when it expires it becomes void, but it still appears on my profile, shouldn't it be deleted?

No, it remains on a user's profile for historical purposes. If a user continues to violate our rules, then we use that historical view to determine what kind of action should be taken against a user. We use it for other reasons as well; think of it like credit history.
